U.S. Supreme Court Justice Stephen Breyer has expressed a willingness to ban protesters from burning the Koran as the modern day equivalent of shouting fire in a crowded theater.
The Supreme Court has ruled burning the American flag in protest is protected speech under the First Amendment of the Constitution.
Breyer spoke to George Stephanopoulos on ABC's Good Morning America today:
But Supreme Court Justice Stephen Breyer told me on "GMA" that he's not prepared to conclude that -- in the internet age -- the First Amendment condones Koran burning.
Holmes said it doesnt mean you can shout 'fire' in a crowded theater, Breyer told me. Well, what is it? Why? Because people will be trampled to death. And what is the crowded theater today? What is the being trampled to death?
Breyer is promoting his new book, Making Our Democracy Work.
Breyer was appointed to the Supreme Court in 1994 by President Bill Clinton.

Hmmmmmm So do Democrats and RINOs for that matter.
Connection? Hmmmmmmm
I'm talking about the American military burning a load of donated Bibles to Afghanistan awhile back. The military refused to distribute the Bibles and refused to send them back to the donors, so they burned them. It was big news when it happened, or at least I thought. It seems many have forgotten or didn't know about it. Drudge recently revived the story a few days ago on his site.
The military decided the Bibles would break the rules of showing bias one way or the other and wanted to remain "neutral", so they couldn't offer the Bibles that were translated into Farsi without "recruiting more Al Quida" fighters. I thought the right decision would be to return the Bibles to the donors, but hey, I'm a Christian and too dumb to understand the symbolism of the US military burning their own Holy Book in front of a bunch of blood thirsty savages. Kinda makes you look like you are losing, and all, ya know? Sorta makes you wonder exactly what your country is fighting for. Seems to me like civilizing a bunch of blood thirsty savages is what our goal should be, otherwise just nuke them all and save the money and blood. Trying to kill just a few Taliban amongst the hordes of other blood thirsty savages that are being radicalized every Friday seems like a waste of time. It seems they don't want to make it a religious war when that is clearly what it is.
I figured if you didn't want them to be Christians, well, then make them atheists. IMHO, you would get the same insane result, ie, flag burning, insults, shouts of "Death to America", and more Al Quida recruits. Might as well distribute the Bibles amongst the heathens and maybe do some good. The only problem is I don't know how many can read.
DINOs. Democrats in Name Only. They hold no common views with Thomas Jefferson.
They employ the tactics of Saul Alinsky, they quote Chairman Mao and Karl Marx, and they belong to Socialist groups.
With his logic saying or doing anything that is even remotely not liked by Muslims would also be banned as they threaten to kill anyone who does. Under his logic we all bow down to Allah or get arrested which would ultimately mean die because that is the only punishment that Muslims would accept for doing anything that undermines their religion. That is why there became so many of them. As they conquered lands, for the people conquered, it was either bow down to Allah or have your head sliced off.

Well, I look at Drudge every day and somehow I missed the story. Thank you for telling me. Here’s what I think: I don’t know who sent the bibles (your post doesn’t say), but I don’t think the military should be in the religion business or proselytizing/correcting any belief system. If the beliefs of a religion drive a people to acts of terrorism against another people, you wipe them out, period. That’s all those people understand and fear, and that’s what our military is for. That said, burning those bibles was a terrible thing to do and whatever commander ordered it be done should be demoted at the very least and probably drummed out or court-martialed at best. They should have been marked “return to sender” and quietly shipped back.
