Istanbul - A top Catholic Church official in Turkey was stabbed to death in his home on Thursday, Turkish television broadcasters reported.
The reports said Vicar Apostolic for the Anatolia region, Bishop Luigi Padovese, was killed by a driver in the bishop's home in Iskenderun.
Further details were not immediately known.
In recent years, nationalist extremists in Turkey on several occasions have attacked or kidnapped Christian clergymen in the country.
Luigi Padovese took up his post in Iskenderun in southern Turkey in November 2004.
RIP Bishop Luigi Padovese.
The left will blame his stabbing on Islams anger over the Crusades from 1000 years ago.
At least he didn’t have panties put on his head.
Or shot by paintballs.
“He was stabbed by his driver, who also happens to be a Catholic.”
In their wake they have left millions dead.
May he rest in peace.
The nation of Islam is rising again after a 500 year slumber. Be afraid Europe be very very afraid. (This includes you Russia).
God shall surely reward his faithful servant! Another martyr has gone home to be with the Lord.
May God bless the Bishop’s friends, and protect them from harm. May we all be able to stand steadfast in faith when faced with these people who seek to spread evil in our world. AMEN.

It occurs to me that Turkey isn’t going to be very successful in wanting to enter the EU, if that’s really what they want. It would appear that Turkey has failed to remain a place where all are welcome, and that the Radical Islamics have taken over...
You even have to ASK that question???
The answer is he did NOTHING other than practice his faith in a place where people worship a god that commands them to kill those who don’t believe as they do.
He was targeted because he is a ‘leader of infidels’. He was targeted because of his belief in the Risen Christ, our Savior and Redeemer.
Seriously though — are you really that naive to have to ask that question?
We are in a really bad position now that Turkey has openly stated support for the Anti-Israeli Hamas, and even threatened to send their Navy to HELP the ‘aid’ break through the blockade of Gaza. A VERY bad position seeing that we have logistical bases in Turkey for the war we are fighting in Afghanistan and Iraq. I have to give them some credit for being deviously clever in painting our leaders into a box on this one...
As for those who would martyr God’s servant — well, they will have a surprise waiting for them when their time comes, and it will NOT be a gaggle of virgins!
Yeah...right...working so hard not to type muslim extremist.
As America embraces over 2300 mosques in our nation including the new 15 story mosque to be built near Ground Zero and open on or near the anniversary of 9/11. We watch muslims protest Israel and protest against our own country IN our nation but try and live as a Christian in any muslim nation and see what happens.
WAKE UP AMERICA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thank you for your post. I would like to make two preliminary points:
First, you don't have to be deviously clever to outsmart Obama, Hillary Clinton and the other incompetents in the current administration.
Second, It is incorrect to call Obama or any of these people “leaders”. They are lying punks and incompetent thugs.
The points you made in your post though are excellent. You seem to be very intelligent and well informed. Turkey, as a member of NATO, has access to military intelligence as well as other sensitive information. Do you think they will work to sabotage U.S. global interests?
I foresee Christians rioting in the streets throughout the world, just as would happen if a Muslim cleric were killed by a Christian.
There fixed it for you
I've been saying that since the mid 90s.
Nowadays, most of my Turkish friends are beginning to agree with me.
A modern martyr for Christianity.
Those damned Turkish Tea Party affiliates! /s
“NTV said he was a convert to Christianity.”
