Istanbul - A top Catholic Church official in Turkey was stabbed to death in his home on Thursday, Turkish television broadcasters reported.
The reports said Vicar Apostolic for the Anatolia region, Bishop Luigi Padovese, was killed by a driver in the bishop's home in Iskenderun.
Further details were not immediately known.
In recent years, nationalist extremists in Turkey on several occasions have attacked or kidnapped Christian clergymen in the country.
Luigi Padovese took up his post in Iskenderun in southern Turkey in November 2004.

They could kill his body, but not his soul.
He lost his life but he found it.

I know exactly who is responsible: Amish on a sightseeing trip.

Separation of Mosque from Government has worked in Turkey since Ataturk but those days are gone.

Coming soon to Italy and the rest of Europe, just as soon as the Islamists finish up with Israel...

In paradisum deducant te Angeli;
in tuo adventu suscipiant te martyres,
et perducant te in civitatem sanctam Ierusalem.
Chorus angelorum te suscipiat,
et cum Lazaro quondam paupere
æternam habeas requiem.
May angels lead you into paradise;
upon your arrival, may the martyrs receive you
and lead you to the holy city of Jerusalem.
May the ranks of angels receive you,
and with Lazarus, the poor man,
may you have eternal rest.

My wife was just in Turkey last week to do missionary work for a UMC women's group. Upon her arrival she was arrested and deported. She spent the better part of a day in prison and ministered to the other women in her cell who were also being deported. I told her after her return that she would not be going back to that part of the world again.

Very sad to see a country once inhabited and ruled by civilized people be taken over by cannibals.

As Islam is the ‘religion of peace’, I’m sure this was a very peaceful stabbing.

I'm afraid the military is now an arm of the extremists/nationalists. At least that is what I heard.

of course it was a peaceful stabbing. A peaceful stabbing by a “peace activist” on an “humanitarian” mission.

Turkey was once a U.S. ally and is still part of NATO. Obama and his administration are encouraging the anti-American, anti-Christian Muslims. Christians are being systematically persecuted and killed by Muslims throughout the world but no one is standing up for them.
Muslims in the U.S. are not loyal, patriotic Americans. They are foreign agents whose loyalty is to the Muslim leaders who want to kill Christians and destroy our country. How much of this has to go on before people in America wake up?
To: fabrizio
One wonders why he was killed.
