In a remark at the 2010 Legislative Conference for National Association of Counties, Nancy Pelosi urged the passage of the health care bill saying: But we have to pass the bill so that you can find out what is in it, away from the fog of the controversy. "
In other words, just pass it and THEN we'll open it up to see what's in it. Trust us!
This infuriates me to no end! They want to pass 2700 pages of laws and regulations yet they don't want to even read it, much less understand what is in it.
With the level of deafness in DC it will take a revolution to get their attention.

If a legislative body “passes” a bill that isn't even available for reading, did they really pass it? If Obama signs it, and people pretend it's law, then why doesn't Obama just sign whatever he wants and let Nancy and Harry pretend it was voted on? Nancy and Harry are only pretending to be involved in a democratic process, anyway. Come to think of it, why doesn't Obama just sign a big thick sheaf of papers and say, “I'm the President, so I'll interpret it however I like?” He's already doing whatever he wants with or without a legal basis. And, if somewhere deep in the middle of the sort-of proposal, there's really a passage that says no part of it can never be repealed, could any law that said that be a law? Isn't it just a pretense at law and a blank check for totalitarianism?

Can’t argue with you at all.

A 25 thousand dollar tennis court for Butte Montana, almost sounds reasonable. What other places will likely get will be 25 thousand dollar tennis BALLS.

Amazing. Ronald Reagan created 20 million jobs and the Democrats said they were all "hamburger flippers". Now, they want to expressly put the hamburger flippers out of work, and call it "economic stabilization and job creation".

What if they passed a law and everybody just ignored it?

A 2700 page bill has anything in it you want it to have in it. You can find a line somewhere to do damn near anything you want to do and make the detractors push it all the way to the Supreme Court. Then you just use a different line, and make them take another 10 years fighting that one.

Rahm and Nancy....what a repulsive, nauseating display. Where were Rahm’s hands, or was he just glad to see Nancy??
These are despicable representatives of our government...reminds me of Rome...Caligula and his mom...together again.

You mean Butte, Montana really didn't need that 25 thousand dollar tennis court? Are you trying to tell me that the government was able to build a tennis court for only 25 thousand dollars? That is an amazing success story.
