In a remark at the 2010 Legislative Conference for National Association of Counties, Nancy Pelosi urged the passage of the health care bill saying: “But we have to pass the bill so that you can find out what is in it, away from the fog of the controversy. "
In other words, just pass it and THEN we'll open it up to see what's in it. Trust us!
This infuriates me to no end! They want to pass 2700 pages of laws and regulations yet they don't want to even read it, much less understand what is in it.
With the level of deafness in DC it will take a revolution to get their attention.
This isn’t infuriating.
It’s treason. What kind of criminals within a legislative body, pass a bill with a title only. Obviously, the constitution implicitly assumes that the power of the legislature is exercised on bills, whose contents are known by the members, when the vote on it.
Only a lawyer or someone subverting the law could even come up with such a scam.

Pelosi is insane. Dangerously insane.

Furthermore, we believe that health care reform, again I said at the beginning of my remarks, that we sent the three pillars that the President’s economic stabilization and job creation initiatives were education and innovation—innovation begins in the classroom—clean energy and climate, addressing the climate issues in an innovative way to keep us number one and competitive in the world with the new technology, and the third, first among equals I may say, is health care, health insurance reform. Health insurance reform is about jobs. This legislation alone will create 4 million jobs, about 400,000 jobs very soon.”
If it is so golden, why won’t Congress be under this same healthcare system?
They got Obama elected that way and we now all see what was inside him.
Nancy forgets when she’s not talking to her constituents...it also makes her talk in monosyllables.

I believe it's what our Founding Fathers had in mind when they took up arms.

We are apparently at sufficient remove from the lessons of our past, and our Congressional leadership is at such remove from an understanding of their duty that we are fast approaching a perilous breach between people and government. I wish to be mistaken but fear I am not.
Now there are no checks and balances. At all. Pass it. Sign it. Then determine what it covers by establishing non-legislative governing bodies to implement the full plan.
