And so it begins:
CPAC embraces the new Mitt Romney

South Carolina mulls 2012: Romney? Palin? Huck?

Romney now biggest threat to Obama head to head

These are just a few examples from the last two days.
You'll also notice the (once again) packed straw poll at CPAC, and a sudden surge in Freepers attacking Sarah Palin at every turn.
It seems the push is already at full force. Mitt Romney is the guy to beat, like it or not (remember that McCain enjoyed -5% support at FR during the campaign), and the GOP is circling the wagons early this time.
Add to that several weekend columns out-of-nowhere attacking Sarah Palin again (George Will, Dorothy Rabinowitz, Kathleen Parker, et al).
let there be no doubt, the organized effort is afoot.
Huckaboob hates Romney and I think Huckleberry can’t wait to run.
this is the best way to put it- when conservatives meet sarah in 08, they KNEW what she is all about.. CONSERVATIVES WILL NOT ABANDON HER—PERIOD— AMERICA HAS SEEN ENOUGH MITTS, AND WANTABEES— SARAH IS THE REAL DEAL, AND IF ITS NOT HER I WONT VOTE-—PERIOD
“...we can make TOTUS a lame-duck his entire 2nd term.”
.
He can still inflict serious damage on this country with all the executive powers that he wields.
“CPAC embraces the new Mitt Romney
And THAT is the problem with Mitt.
Every new election there is a new Mitt.
This year...
Mitt is running as a Hispanic Woman with
business experience.
If gayness were in its ascendancy, Mitt would
be running as a transgendered, gay, hispanic
woman with business experience.
and so it goes...
Or Demint. I’m not putting my chips on Palin yet.
I give you my word here and now...
If Mitt is the nominee, I will go fishing that day.
I am not voting for another RINO. McCain ended that.
best,
a more perfect union
Says who?
Of course, it’s “his turn”.
You speak for a lot of us, my FRiend.
I will not hold my nose and vote for another RINO (especially not Mitt) again.
It seems that the Gutless Old Party thinks that governing our country is just a game. In that respect they’re not much different from the RATs.
Everyone in the country knows as much about Sarah now as they ever will. Most primary voters will know that she can’t win so will vote for who they think can win - Romney. That’s how McCain got the nomination. Voters weren’t crazy about him but they thought he had the best chance to win. I don’t think it’s a good idea to vote that way because it means voters aren’t really that crazy about the nominee so won’t work hard for him. I think Dems voted for Kerry for the same reason - they thought he would be able to beat Bush. but they weren’t really that crazy about him so he didn’t win. They really did seem to like Obama so he won. There’s a lesson in there somewhere.
The Huckster or Mittwit?
The equivalence of choosing between a root canal and an appendectomy.
I’ve been screamin to high heaven that this race would come down to Palin or Romney.
Conservatives have been fighting a civil war within their own ranis as usual, allowing Romney to build support and momentum.
Conservtives will once again be looking inside, standing outside...
He will be hard to stop.
I know. They both make me sick.
Exactly. He will foolishly pick Santorum, Thune, or DeMint - nice Conservatives, all - hoping it will have a nullifying effect on the betrayal Palinistas will feel. It will instead make many of us more irate that not only did the establishment shun her, but then their nominee passed her over for someone else. It will be a second knife in the heart to Palinistas, and he won't be wise enough to realize that, or the fact that the substitute Conservative - however genuine - will not heal enough wounds.
His team of vitriolic anti-Palinites would NEVER let him pick her, not even if she won 49% to his 50%. Deputy Chief of Staff Steve Schmidt would go ballistic at the mention of her name.
The only way both are on the ticket is if Palin wins the nod and Mitt has a good showing. Like Reagan, she may choose to marry the campaign machinery and existing ground troops in such a manner. He could help in CO, NM, NV, and MI, among others. I would support her over Obama, no matter who she picks as Veep.
But there is no way in hell Mitt Romney would pick Palin for Veep - not given a million chances to do so. His team sees her as radioactive.
That would be Sarahs PAC, but I don't have the number.
Just say no to Northeastern gun-grabbing liberals.
It was Juan’s turn in 2008 and Mitt’s show in 2012.
Check the list in post #30 to see who his supporters are.
PUTTING ROMNEY IN IS NO DIFFER. THAN THE CLOWN WE HAVE IN THEIR NOW— ROMNEY IS A MORMAN, AND I AM A CHRISTIAN- WHATS ROMNEY STANCE ON ABORTION?? — THESE ARE THE THINGS THAT WIL CAUSE MITT TO LOOSE.. IF YOU WANT ROMNEY, GO FOR IT— BUT YOU CAN DO IT WITHOUT MY VOTE OR MANY OTHERS-
