“I will go fishing with you, AMPU.

“No more ‘holding my nose and voting’, especially for Mitt.

You and Mr. Reaganaut are welcome to come down to the lower portions of the country and thaw out and go fishing with me anytime. You’re both A-OK in my book.

{It will be interesting to see how her fans and followers react if a)she doesn’t run in 2012 or b) she runs and loses the primary. They have a lot of emotional investment in her}

The Palin Fan Club will back whoever Palin endorses in the primary.

Back in Nov 09, Charles Krauthamer said Palin won’t the GOP nominee, but she could very well determine who the nominee is.

Well, Demint backed Romney in 2008, so that wouldn’t be much of a stretch.

To say he’s the biggest threat from that PPP poll is somewhat misleading. Romney, Huckabee and Palin all got the same 43% against Obama. The difference was that Obama got 45 vs Romney, 46 vs Huckabee and 50 vs Palin(basically he did a few pts better among Is and Ds). He beat all 3 of them and if you lose by a 2 pts or 7 pts, you still lose. I don’t think anyone would have cared if McCain lost 51-49 instead of 53-46.

It makes sense when you consider that Romney and Huckabee haven’t been subject to the yr and half long media and DNC/WH assault that Palin has been. Once they train the attack ads and the oppo research and the whole arsenal on them, it will be different. Palin is already defined. I can’t really see her getting more unpopular, or going down, and the supporters she does have, if they’re still with her at this point, you have to figure they’re pretty darn loyal.

It will be interesting as I think what will happen is that the DNC and the WH and the media will decide that Palin as the nominee is Obama’s easiest path to a surefire reeelection. They will do whatever they can behind the scenes(and in front of the scenes)to ensure that she gets the nomination.

You’ll have the GOP establishment doing everything they can to make sure that she doesn’t(and that Romney does), and you’ll the dem establishment/WH/media doing everything they can to make sure she does.

It’ll be like a reverse Operation CHAOS.

Should be fun to watch play out.

future endorsement of T-Paw by Sarah? If T-Paw becomes the frontrunner, does much of the anti-Mitt sentiment shift to him?

With his evangelical church affiliation .... are most people here aware of that and how it makes him a serious threat in Iowa?

What a load of horsesh**. Even if there were a "new" Romney, I sure as hell wouldn't trust him, or waste my vote on him.

As soon as Romney announces for the 2012 nomination, I'll break out my old tagline:

"Mitt Romney: Boldly proclaiming what he thinks the audience wants to hear."

The “white horse prophecy” is a false prophecy by Joseph Smith when he was running for POTUS in 1844 that stated that the “Elders of Zion” (Mormons) would come in and rescue America when the constitution was “hanging by a thread”.

Of course, underlying this prophesy is the idea that America will then stream into the LDS Church.

I actually think that if Romney wins the nomination, it will be the worst thing that ever happened to the LDS Church. The Obama and the Democrats and their mainstream media allies will make the Mormons and indirectly Romney look like a total bunch of weirdos.

There are enough quirky aspects of Mormonism (particularly when exaggerated) that even the average unchurched American won't see them as a sect of Christianity but instead as an odd cult. All those millions and millions of dollars of advertising by the LDS Church to gain mainstream acceptance will be undone by the relentless media campaign aimed at discrediting Romney but which will smear all Mormons.

You have a point. The LDS church cannot withstand scrutiny.

I know, I used to be LDS and, silly me, I believed the LDS leaders when they said to investigate that the LDS would withstand criticism. Not even close. I was out in less than a year after I really started researching.
