These are just a few examples from the last two days.
You'll also notice the (once again) packed straw poll at CPAC, and a sudden surge in Freepers attacking Sarah Palin at every turn.
It seems the push is already at full force. Mitt Romney is the guy to beat, like it or not (remember that McCain enjoyed -5% support at FR during the campaign), and the GOP is circling the wagons early this time.
Add to that several weekend columns out-of-nowhere attacking Sarah Palin again (George Will, Dorothy Rabinowitz, Kathleen Parker, et al).
let there be no doubt, the organized effort is afoot.
YOU GO JIM! CPAC - is nothing more than a bunch of ‘INSIDE-THE-BELTWAY ‘ESTABLISHMENT’ BIG GOVERNMENT-LOVIN “conservatives”.
If Palin is looking for “open doors” to the White House someday, it may be better for her to sit 2012 out and endorse a conservative alternative to Romney. An endorsement by Palin in the primary would create instant media buzz and momentum for that candidate. If the candidate wins the primary and defeats Obama, he would appoint Palin as Energy Secretary or Energy Czar. Thus enabling Palin to develop a record of competency on a national stage.

Mitt would NEVER choose a woman for VP and I would lose all respect for Sarah if she chose a RINO like Mitt (which I can’t see her doing anyway).
If Mitt is the nominee, I will go fishing that day.

Yeah...right after his book signing...but before his book sales are reported high. No doubt they will be..I wonder how many of his books he’ll buy just to make it look good? Certainly the Morman church people will..they’ll likely have them at the door for all to purchase...and he’s doing this in Morman land just for that reason..I said before he wants to look strong coming out the gate on his book because the MSM will be doing some comparisons with Palins run.
Romney is even more of a liberal backstabber than Bush was.

And I am sure that many LDS will be encouraged to buy it, since this is the closest they have been to fulfilling their ‘white horse prophecy’.

The key words are “all but said”..because she actually hasn’t. I’m still not convinced she wants the Presidency though no doubt she wants to be effective where ever she determines her place to be in the political arena. I will support her but I’m simply not convinced she’ll run. In fact I think she’ll make that decision based on where she thinks she can have the best impact in turning our country around...as we all know the Presidency isn’t always the best place to be to turn this country...much is accomplished or not thru congress and those working behind the scenes.
The “white horse prophecy” is a false prophecy by Joseph Smith when he was running for POTUS in 1844 that stated that the “Elders of Zion” (Mormons) would come in and rescue America when the constitution was “hanging by a thread”.
The prophecy also ties into their view that “one mighty and strong” will return. I suspect Romney sees himself as fulfilling both prophecies.
Some Mormons claim that this prophecy never happened and that the source are not reliable but LDS church owned museum has an official mural about the prophecy at the location where it was supposedly was given (Liberty Jail) and there is more than enough evidence to support the giving of the prophecy and the continued belief in it. When I lived in Utah in the early 1990’s it was common topic of conversation at BYU.
Recently, Rex Rammell in ID raise a fuss recently because he sent out invites to and LDS male only panel to discuss this prophecy.

I used to be Mormon (convert). I left over 15 years ago and became a Christian.
The GOP machine also includes groups like the National Right To Life Commitee and the National Rifle Association that have been taken over by the inisders that support incumbent and or business as usual politicians.
There’s a a new Romney around every corner.
