Everyone in the country knows as much about Sarah now as they ever will. Most primary voters will know that she can’t win so will vote for who they think can win - Romney. That’s how McCain got the nomination. Voters weren’t crazy about him but they thought he had the best chance to win. I don’t think it’s a good idea to vote that way because it means voters aren’t really that crazy about the nominee so won’t work hard for him. I think Dems voted for Kerry for the same reason - they thought he would be able to beat Bush. but they weren’t really that crazy about him so he didn’t win. They really did seem to like Obama so he won. There’s a lesson in there somewhere.

IF the republicans could set all state primaries on the same day, with no cross-over votes, we may get a fair candidate.

As it was in 2008, by the time we voted in Maryland, there were 2 pubbie candidates on the ballot, McCain and Romney (who had "suspended" his campaign). It was basically a done deal. The poor folks in many other states, didn't even have 2 names to choose from.

The cross-overs will vote for whoever they see as our weakest candidate.
