Election 2010: The back-to-back Senate retirements of Byron Dorgan and Chris Dodd may be just the beginning. The people have seen the future of health care reform and found it doesn't work. Apres moi, le deluge.
We don't know what the Mayan calendar says about 2010, but it's starting to look like the end of the world for Democratic electoral prospects. Americans who watched in shock as government tried to step between them and their doctors, may have the last laugh. The tea party isn't over until the angry mob votes.
As rage grew over the attempt to nationalize one-sixth of the economy, Democratic prospects faded. Americans were not amused that the best health care in the world would be replaced with rationing. They were appalled at the secret deals and outright bribes to get the votes of Louisiana's Mary Landrieu and Nebraska's Ben Nelson.
Polls showed they liked their doctors and their insurance and could not understand why a program intended to insure everybody didn't do what it promised and was costly to boot. They could not understand the need for government bureaucrats and not their doctors to decide on the method of and necessity for their treatment.
So the political body count begins.
Dorgan, the junior senator from North Dakota, was the first Democratic incumbent to get out of Dodge, as early polls showed him 20 points behind popular GOP Gov. John Hoeven in a possible match-up.
He wouldn't be the last. Connecticut's senior senator, Chris Dodd, dubbed by critics "the senator from Countrywide Financial" for his sweetheart real estate deals, opted to retire to that famous Irish cottage of his.

The dems are going to steal it or die trying. They might even get away with it. Right now, I am hopeful they won’t but not confident.
Voter fraud is a dem specialty and I am sure they are going to pull out all the stops this time.
What are the odds of finding one upright, moral prosecutor and one untainted judge?
My thoughts exactly. I just don’t trust them
If you see a guy walking around with a lantern, ask him.
Democrats are making their deals now. If they get out, will they get a job from their Obama? They are such a corrupt bunch. These people will do or say anything.
This is a striking set of events in that we are now seeing Dem “Franchise Level” Politicians bowing out admitting defeat before they have even had their fight?
I draw from this a very disturbing theory and it goes like this - these Dorgan/Dodd types are not amateurs to this game and they made their votes to support 0bama’s efforts to Communalize America KNOWING what they were doing was casting “suicide bomber” votes, that is they became political Kamikaze’s to 0bama’s cause.
Usually there is enough healthy respect for a will of the people that causes “Franchise Level” Politicians to refrain from such egregious sellouts of the public trust, but is seems that in the time of 0bama things are indeed changed.
“The dems are going to steal it or die trying.”
I think Glen Beck nailed it on this one. The dems are going to play the immigration race card before this fall’s elections and divert voters’ attention from the BS they’ve jammed down our collective throats.
You know what I sense from this news? I sense that the older Democrats are just plain exhausted. They see the proverbial handwriting, and just want to get out of Dodge while they have their health. Blanche Lincoln’s emergence today decrying the Nebraska exception, is just one example of how the vulnerable ones know they’re toast. 2010 will indeed be a fabulous year for Republicans. Let’s just not blow it in 2011!!!!!!
Diogenes Reagan
Doesn't he post here?
LOL!
We have to stop calling these people “democrats”. Call them what they are communists of the fascist variety. They don’t believe in democracy.
ACORN
SEIUS
I think they feel they have reasons to be confident, if not of keeping their seats in November, at least in regaining them as they add 10 000 000 or so live newly ex illegal voters to the rolls and uncountable involuntary substitute, dead and fictitious ones.
I prefer the term SCUM (Socialist Cretinous Utter Morons).
Does that work for you?
That is probably a big part of it, but the more I think about it, the more I am convinced it is a tactical move on the part of the big names.
If it turns into an utter rout for the dems, they have dodged the bullet, but if in fact they do manage to steal the election, these same names will be back in the power business either as lobbyists or something else. The ol’ revolving door sort of thing.
As for hoping the Republicans do not blow it. THAT will depend on how serious we are about keeping the heat on. I never underestimate the stupidity of the Stupid Party.
Those that get out before the elections will retire undefeated, and meld into the ranks of highly paid lobbyists.
Dodd's not going to give up that much power without prior arrangements for his well-being.
Obamacare will pass. So, too, will amnesty for criminal aliens and universal voter registration, which will add 20M new Dem voters. I am not optimistic about the 2010 election. ACORN and SEIU have already been promised $500M to ensure the Dems win. Until people get angry enough, the Dems will be locking-in a perpetual Marxist revolution here.
