UNREAL. Obama May Allow US Soldiers to be Tried in the Hague

Unreal. Team Obama may allow US soldiers to be tried in the Hague for war crimes. The Wall Street Journal reported, via Jihad Watch:

Secretary of State Hillary Clinton expressed “great regret” in August that the U.S. is not a signatory to the International Criminal Court (ICC). This has fueled speculation that the Obama administration may reverse another Bush policy and sign up for what could lead to the trial of Americans for war crimes in The Hague.

The ICC’s chief prosecutor, though, has no intention of waiting for Washington to submit to the court’s authority. Luis Moreno Ocampo says he already has jurisdiction—at least with respect to Afghanistan.

Because Kabul in 2003 ratified the Rome Statute—the ICC’s founding treaty—all soldiers on Afghan territory, even those from nontreaty countries, fall under the ICC’s oversight, Mr. Ocampo told me. And the chief prosecutor says he is already conducting a “preliminary examination” into whether NATO troops, including American soldiers, fighting the Taliban may have to be put in the dock.

“We have to check if crimes against humanity, war crimes or genocide have been committed in Afghanistan,” Mr. Ocampo told me. “There are serious allegations against the Taliban and al Qaeda and serious allegations about warlords, even against some who are connected with members of the government.” Taking up his inquiry of Allied soldiers, he added, “there are different reports about problems with bombings and there are also allegations about torture.”

It was clear who the targets of these particular inquiries are but the chief prosecutor shied away from spelling it out.

Asked repeatedly whether the examination of bombings and torture allegations refers to NATO and U.S. soldiers, Mr. Ocampo finally stated that “we are investigating whoever commits war crimes, including the group you mentioned.”

DC is ignoring the opinions of the wise and true patriotic Americans on every issue. The truth is that the nincompoops and leftists are into taking every advantage while they're the majority.

Threats of being kicked out of office have little or no effect, and, in truth, some know they will be re-elected.

Oh how I wish they would! So far, the signs show that conservatives have no intentions of revolting against this evil gov't. What does it take to start a revolution? If, by chance, it came about, would the military take sides with the American people, in many cases, their own families?

Maybe we should learn something from Turkey. There is an army general or a military commission that will warn then remove anyone or any government and declare a new FREE election, if the Turkish Constitution is violated. Including but not limited to, removing clerics or Islamic fundamentalists interfering with or threatening the secular government.

For our peace and tranquility, this type of plague shouldn’t be allowed again, ever. We have a lot of work to do just to rid ourselves of the traitors bestowed on us by our ignorant, idiotic fellow American ACORNers.

Yes, but parents have played a role as well. My parents made sure I knew what communism was at home. Everything wasn't left to the schools. I spoke at length to a father of kids from 7-17 last night. Believe me when I say his kids know what it is as well and it has caused more than a few problems at school.

We need to get back to basics -- personal responsibility, and the idea that parents, not schools or government, are responsible for raising their children would be a good start.

How did we stop the British? To quote the honorable Rev. Manning, "people aren't going to take it anymore." We Americans are tough people. We are nice to a fault but we can be pushed too far. How far is too far? I think baraq o bamah is trying to find out but I can tell you this. The media isn't going to be able to keep spinning the reports of our military personnel allegedly committing war crimes while whitewashing the terrorist attacks taking place on our own soil. Attacks like the one today that witness 4 law enforcement officers gunned down in cold blood. Those officers have families and friends and those people aren't going to keep lying down and taking it.

And to Obama’s “last ditch gambit”, these reports continue, he is to announce in a nationwide address to his people this coming week that he is going to expand the level of US Military Forces in Afghanistan by tens of thousands of troops, while at the same time using the deployment of these soldiers as a “cover” for returning to the United States over 200,000 additional American soldiers from the over 800 bases in over 39 countries they have stationed around the Globe bringing the level of these forces in America to over 1 million, a number the US Military believes will be able to contain the “explosion of violence” expected to roil these peoples when they learn their economy has been bankrupted.
