Ready to Revolt: Oath Keepers pledges to prevent dictatorship in United States
Group asks police and military to lay down arms in response to orders deemed unlawful
Depending on your perspective, the Oath Keepers are either strident defenders of liberty or dangerous peddlers of paranoia.
In the age of town halls, talk radio and tea parties, middle ground of opinion is hard to find.
Launched in March by Las Vegan Stewart Rhodes, Oath Keepers bills itself as a nonpartisan group of current and retired law enforcement and military personnel who vow to fulfill their oaths to the Constitution.
More specifically, the group's members, which number in the thousands, pledge to disobey orders they deem unlawful, including directives to disarm the American people and to blockade American cities. By refusing the latter order, the Oath Keepers hope to prevent cities from becoming "giant concentration camps," a scenario the 44-year-old Rhodes says he can envision happening in the coming years.
It's a Cold War-era nightmare vision with a major twist: The occupying forces in this imagined future are American, not Soviet.
"The whole point of Oath Keepers is to stop a dictatorship from ever happening here," Rhodes, a former Army paratrooper and Yale-trained lawyer, said in an interview with the Review-Journal. "My focus is on the guys with the guns, because they can't do it without them.
"We say if the American people decide it's time for a revolution, we'll fight with you."

Morris Dees’ group (SPLC) is at it again. Mr. Dees has made millions off his hateful group.
“I will not accept unconstitutional government. I know they may kill me, but Ill make it as expensive for them as I can.”
I’ve got your flank, Swamp.
Why not? It's the basic *legal* contract between you, and your government. It is, in all practicality, the heart, and the soul, of the nation. In short, the Constitution is the nation, and anyone who seeks to displace it with *anything* else, is by the terms of said contract, "levying war against the United States", or, in short, comitting treason...

“Millions of us swore to defend the Constitution we have, and were armed, and we dont forget an oath.”
Yup.
I look at the Constitution from the same angle as you have posted.
It is a contract among, and between the states to form a new political entity, the general government.
There is no way that any sane entity would give the opposite/formed entity in a contract the sole “interpretation” and modification power of that contract.
Possibly, but the knowledge that there are a LOT of us might make them think twice about coming for us.
I disagree with you about making statements against the government: The First Amendment protects the right of the People to do just that. Making statements against the government is not the same as calling for their heads to roll. Hell, wasn’t it a senior member of the present government who said not too long ago that dissent was not only protected, it was patriotic!
There may or may not come a time where violence is either thrust upon us or we find it is our last resort. We are not at that point. Still, we would be derelict to ourselves, our families, and the country our Founders created if we ignored its possibility and failed to prepare for it.
My government is the one penned by the Founders and outlined in the Constitution.
I have no idea whose government is currently in power in this Country, but it isn't mine...
That's a very good point. :0)
The current leadership of the GOP is gutless. They are too much involved with sending this country down the tubes.
The only way they’ll get it, is if the next Tea Party in W., D.C. sees ten million people descend upon it, and tens of million others let them know they mean business through their emails.
Giving cause for the powers to be to label Conservatives as an insurgent group on the cusp of actual violence, probably won’t help our cause. It could be used to marginalize us to irrelevance, or worse yet deserving of government roundups.
We need to be careful.
We should always be prepared. We should never give power to the irrational things that Obama’s people would love to say about us. For when we do, that wing nut is capable of doing just about anything. I just don’t want our ill thought out words or well meaning actions to make that possible. That’s all I’m saying.
I do understand where you’re coming from.
Can’t argue with that.

Looks like there are plenty of folks on *lists* out there. Not sure the Feds would know where to start rounding people up.
Here’s some lists from the SPLC:
http://www.splcenter.org/intel/map/hate.jsp
The thing is, they CAN’T get them all in the first go around,
and the second wave of “roundups” will get VERY dangerous for those doing the rounding.
While the names of some of those groups do give you cause to wonder, I am also reminded of folks who think this site is racist, because we decry what is happening with illegal immigrants, militant Muslims and the like.
Note the clearly racist organizations like La Raza, MALDEF, the NAACP and others are not listed.
Of course I am one of those rare people who think splinter advocacy groups that promote their own ethnicity at the cost of other ethnicities is also racist.
