Ready to Revolt: Oath Keepers pledges to prevent dictatorship in United States

Ready to Revolt: Oath Keepers pledges to prevent dictatorship in United States

Group asks police and military to lay down arms in response to orders deemed unlawful

Depending on your perspective, the Oath Keepers are either strident defenders of liberty or dangerous peddlers of paranoia.

In the age of town halls, talk radio and tea parties, middle ground of opinion is hard to find.

Launched in March by Las Vegan Stewart Rhodes, Oath Keepers bills itself as a nonpartisan group of current and retired law enforcement and military personnel who vow to fulfill their oaths to the Constitution.

More specifically, the group's members, which number in the thousands, pledge to disobey orders they deem unlawful, including directives to disarm the American people and to blockade American cities. By refusing the latter order, the Oath Keepers hope to prevent cities from becoming "giant concentration camps," a scenario the 44-year-old Rhodes says he can envision happening in the coming years.

It's a Cold War-era nightmare vision with a major twist: The occupying forces in this imagined future are American, not Soviet.

"The whole point of Oath Keepers is to stop a dictatorship from ever happening here," Rhodes, a former Army paratrooper and Yale-trained lawyer, said in an interview with the Review-Journal. "My focus is on the guys with the guns, because they can't do it without them.

"We say if the American people decide it's time for a revolution, we'll fight with you."

Personally, I am not hopeful at all. Look at the response to the question of Obama’s natural born status.

“. They’ll just ignore the current Constitution and do what they want.”

And so it has been my entire life. It took the events of the last dozen years to awaken me to this fact. Now I’m pissed.

The ultimate authority in our country, under God,

is the Constitution and the people.

Not the USSC’s interpretation thereof, not the President or Congress.

Thank God for Glenn Beck. How pathetic that Glenn is pretty much alone in this fight. The leadership of the GOP is hiding under their skirts. Glenn is taking the arrows for millions of Americans. The truth is out there. Pray that American patriots expose the plot that is unfolding and expose the traitors behind it.

Another famous quote from Edward Everett who was a writer and a clergyman, also Chaplain of the United States Senate -

‘Do you pray for the senators, Dr. Hale?’

No, I look at the senators and I pray for the country.

As most of us know, not ALL of the Colonists alive at the time of the Framing wanted to change their Government to become a republic. Many were quite content to be under England's & King George's subjugation. Just as today, many were paralyzed by complacency, indecision and fear.

Can we make a stand and unite?” became “They'll imprison or kill us if we defy them”. SOME had to be dragged into the Revolution. Watch “The Patriot” to get the Hollywood version of what I'm talking about — Revolution is NOT for the faint of heart!

Neither is tyranny.

Truth be known — the same will be true with any “Revolution” todayand I use the term “Revolution” very loosely. If our Founding Fathers relied on a USA Today Gallup Poll to assess a plurality before they moved forward, the Revolution may not have ever happened at all.

If the media doesn't cover it, it MUST be a conspiracy. REALLY??! Less than 25 percent of the public believes the MSM; the ones who do are in the weak-minded herd, INCAPABLE of noticing their Servicing and Bondage to their government in the first place!

Many or most in the military would gladly accept the "new" constitution.

Total and absolute B.S.

What you don’t get, Analog, is that all those things were done by turning the heat up slowly. Obama and his crew are very likely to turn the heat up suddenly. The frog will leap.

The Truth is rarely easy.

We all KNOW, deep in our bones, that a revolutionary change is about to happen — one way or the other. It’s an undercurrent that’s about to overflow.

The question is: On which side do you stand?

Sure! Take it right now.

Put it in writing. Mail a copy to the White House, and have a copy recorded in your local court house. Publish it in several newspapers in your vicinity.

I took the oath when I entered military service as a 17 year-old (1973), and still consider it in effect.
