MSNBC is having an on air meltdown over a man their camera crew videotaped openly carrying a handgun at an anti-Obama protest in Portsmouth, New Hampshire this morning near where Barack Obama will be holding a town hall meeting later today.
MSNBC showed footage of the man with the gun openly holstered to his right leg. He was holding a large sign with words about the tree of liberty.
The Portsmouth police chief informed MSNBC the man was legally armed.
The man was reportedly standing with a group of protesters on the property of a church.
More as this develops.
Since union and Democrat thugs have been assaulting opponents of socialism, an anti-socialist protestor being armed for self defense is a prudent move.

Thank you SW, I went to NH laws earlier, and they were too long to read; thought a FReeper could give a quick answer.
They want to lock all of us up if we even dissent at a town hall, let alone carry a gun.
I have to tell you it is one hell of an education to see what they believe, their definition of Facism is bastardized,I would say they have no clue as to how this country was designed but that is not true, the really do hate capitalism, freedom and America.
????????? Look it up. We have both. PA is a shall issue state.Visit the County Sheriff where you live, fill out the form, pay your 25 bucks and get a permit to carry concealed. No permit is needed to carry openly.
Some states have open carry, some have concealed carry. Here in TX it’s concealed carry. I don’t know the reasons for the dichotomy. I suppose concealed carry tends to avoid whipping up people’s passions, but open carry lets everybody know where they stand.
No doubt a Secret Service sniper was poised to bust a cap into his head if he’d reached for the gun while the President was in the area.
Thank you calex59
It depends on what he was trying to accomplish.
According to his sign, he wanted to remind people of what Jefferson said:
"And what country can preserve its liberties, if it's rulers are not warned from time to time, that this people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to the facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time, with the blood of patriots and tyrants."
Which is precisely why more people need to open carry where it is legal.
See previous message for standard Secret Service response in such a situation.
I believe the quote was from Jefferson (the first American leftist) and included both patriots and tyrants.
Sic Semper Tyrannis.
I’m sure the acorn and union thugs thugs from st louis didn’t attack him!
Way to go, Nathan. You assume we’re the stupid ones who are have no idea what we’re doing, which makes us vulnerable to being played by the masterful and oh-so-superior-in-knowledge obama goons.
Your lack of faith is disturbing.
That was my thought too: this holster doesn't have anything covering the trigger, it appears to be a "pressure" type holster. If so, the gun could be grabbed by someone.
RU serious? I have every right to carry a gun to defend myself and my family.
The government can't protect me. Until they assign a cop to guard me and my family all day and night, I WILL carry when I feel like it.
Cops carry guns to enforce the law? Get real. They carry guns to defend themselves, and the public when there is a situation that warrants it.
They carry ticket books and handcuffs to enforce the law.
Bet, if it were your typical liberal, ‘progressive’ standing there, MSNBC would completely ignore ignore it. I can’t see why GE bothers with crappy network.
It’s probably strapped in. You gotta keep your hand over it though. Look, the guy knows he’s creating a scene. You can’t get a license without training... I’m extremely confident he knows what he’s doing. You gotta keep your head on a swivel and be aware of your surroundings. Nothing more than a cop or military does every day. In fact, dude is probably ex military or cop to begin with.
It’s funny how titillated everyone in media etc. gets at the sight of somebody in a t-shirt with a gun.
Total agreement
