[history]
MSNBC is having an on air meltdown over a man their camera crew videotaped openly carrying a handgun at an anti-Obama protest in Portsmouth, New Hampshire this morning near where Barack Obama will be holding a town hall meeting later today.
MSNBC showed footage of the man with the gun openly holstered to his right leg. He was holding a large sign with words about the tree of liberty.
The Portsmouth police chief informed MSNBC the man was legally armed.
The man was reportedly standing with a group of protesters on the property of a church.
More as this develops.

Hilarious. We need to start bringing pitchforks, torches, tar and feathers.
Fighting against socialism is getting to be a lot of fun. Hopefully even more tax paying Americans will get involved and turn off the boob tube.

Reminds me of the headlines of “violence” at town hall meetings. Now they are implying that people are showing up armed. Leftist propaganda attempts to scare seniors so they stay away from the town hall meetings...

"Recently more and more people have been openly carrying.
One thing for sure, union thugs wont be attacking this fella." Don't be so sure. They might try intimidate him into doing something stupid.
Remember, just because you can carry doesn't mean you can draw your weapon for any reason. I KNOW that unions instruct agitators to purposely try intimidate law enforcement, hired security etc. to do stupid things like that while others are filming.

Video is posted at MSNBC. When it first went up, it started with coverage of the guy/gun/sign. That was apparently too scary as that footage has now been cut from the beginning of the clip.

We as conservatives recoil at pushing the limits. Perhaps it's time we pushed and pushed until the limits are more to our liking. Like, I don't know, following the constitution perhaps. What a radical idea. If the Left can get away with pushing limits, while we don't push in the opposite direction, then over time the Left wins by default.

Question? What would prevent a crazy nut from getting close enough to this man and be able to grab the gun out of the holster and start shooting? Are guns secured in a holster some way?

There is more respect given by the thugs and things stay calm. What took place in NH shows that .

Im not so sure the Secret Service will agree. It would be interesting to see what happens if an armed citizen is standing where he legally allowed to be, but his presence makes the Secret Service uncomfortable. The legal response should be that they move the President.

I think the situation in Dodge City and Tombstone had more to do with the mixing of alcohol with firearms than with RKBA. But it did probably start us on the path to the nanny nanny boo boo control we have today. I don’t like to say nanny state, because it sounds too nice. What we’re really describing is totalitarianizm.
