If, as you claim, the “sword” of Luke 22:36 is Jesus’ word - why would you have to sell your cloak to buy it?
More probably it was a Jewish short dagger (Greek: maxairan - Strong’s Number: 3162) used for self defense, not a long sword.

I can’t see any way to stretch the context and sentence to mean what you assert.
