“Before weighing in on the split-screen showdown that occurred today in Washington, let me be clear about the views I have on the questions before us: I write as one who believes that waterboarding is counterproductive at best, and torture at worst.
“
And you’re writing for CBS News? Why, I’m shocked!

Judging forensics and rhetoric, it is clear that while President Obama came to make a speech, Vice President Cheney came to have a debate

Great article! Editorial by the Senior Editor? And CBS no less??
I’ve never been a big fan of Dick Cheney. I’ve not been a fan nor have I been a detractor. However, since he’s been able to speak as a private citizen, I have been so impressed and amazed. You go Cheney! He’s doing a great job.
Where is Bush? Last I heard of him, he congratulated Obama and said something about supporting our new Prez.
There is talk here of Cheney for President. I’ll pass on that, he’s doing too well being a spokesperson for the American people. The President cannot do that.

Cheney was very convincing. Even my folks, who cannot stand him, agreed. This keeps up and it will become more and more apparent that BHO is waaayyyyy over his head

You know Cheney won when even CBS News is admitting it.

And I’ll add my admiration for your picture. Geez, that’s exactly what happened after the election.
Bush in submission, Cheney with a direct head on challenge.
I love it!

Not a fan of Cheney? wowHey, I wasn't a fan, he was just a non-entity in my mind. I'm pretty impressed now. :)
Have you always been a fan of his?

Why have you never been a big fan of Dick Cheney? Your assessment of his recent performance suggests you have just discovered him.
Dick Cheney has been a consistant loyal supporter of conservativism and the Bush administration...often, with president Bush, to a fault. His loyal team-player character required his silence during the Bush years, but thankfully no longer.
He is an articulate spokesman for the values that have made America the great country it is and I am proud to have been a strong supporter of this fine man.
His address should anyone wish to send a letter:
The Hon. Dick Cheney
1126 Chain Bridge Rd
McLean, VA 22101

If President Obama—eloquent as he is—is unable to persuade those who are inclined to agree with him, he ought to reconsider his debating strategy.
This is a lie. Hussain is not eloquent. He is tongue tied and inarticulate. However, he can read...and as long as he is fed lines can speak them with force.

He repeated the performance in 2004, manhandling the silver-tongued John Edwards in the process.
Manhandling is putting it lightly. Cheney destroyed Breck Girl in that debate.
