BY MELISSA GRACE
DAILY NEWS STAFF WRITER
Wednesday, December 12th 2007, 2:13 AM
ARTICLE SNIPPET: “Askari, all of 5-feet-7 and 140 pounds, said he was left with a swollen face.
He said he didn’t go to the doctor because he’s too busy working two waiter jobs and doesn’t have the money for medical care.
He was mystified as to why the men became so outraged when the women and their male friends wished them a “Happy Chanukah” while they were yelling “Merry Christmas” on the train car.
“I don’t understand,” he said. “They were just being nice.””

Beware Islamist Plants In Debates
INVESTOR’S BUSINESS DAILY
Posted 12/12/2007
Election ‘08: Muslim activists are in a full-court press to influence the presidential debates and war policy. No matter what they say, they don’t represent ordinary Muslim citizens.
What they really represent are the interests of the radical Muslim Brotherhood, which are decidedly anti-American. Groups tied to the Brotherhood are planting questioners at the debates, and CNN and other hosts aren’t the wiser.
In the past three presidential debates, Muslims were picked to challenge candidates about homeland-security and war policy as it relates to Muslims. Despite prescreening, the questioners were presented to the public as moderate Muslims concerned about alleged anti-Islamic excesses in the war.
Yet they are associated with two Muslim groups that U.S. prosecutors have linked to the Brotherhood, a worldwide jihadist movement that, according to recent court documents, has secretly plotted to take over America from within. They plan to do that precisely by using our political freedoms against us....

“Fort Dix attack plot suspects promoting jihad in jail”
Scrooges on the Hill: Saying no to Christmas resolution
By Michelle Malkin December 12, 2007 03:18 PM
From the office of GOP Rep. Steve King:
Congressman Steve King reacted this morning to the nine NO votes on his resolution to honor Christmas and the Christian faith. The vote shocked Capitol Hill observers because votes on similar resolutions honoring the holidays of Islam and Hinduism passed without any NO votes.
Appearing this morning on the Fox News Channels Fox and Friends, King said, The [nine] naysayers didnt make it to the floor to debate. I would like to know how they could vote Yes on Islam, Yes on the Indian Religions and No on Christianity when the foundation of this nation and our American culture is Christianity
I think theres an assault on Christianity in America....

I read your post shortly after I'd seen this news report:
November 13: A passenger on board the ship contacted the BBC to say the vessel was not allowed to land passengers in Tripoli on Tuesday morning for a planned day trip. A P&O spokeswoman said the vessel was heading to its next destination, Malta, earlier than scheduled. Cruise passengers and others have been denied entry into the country since November 11, even if they have valid visas.
Well now, that is interesting and a good link to boot.
Thanks MamaDearest.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
RELEASE No. 20071213-06
December 13, 2007
CLCs provide vital information on insurgents, weapons
Multi-National Division Center
FORWARD OPERATING BASE HAMMER, Iraq Using information provided by Concerned Local Citizens, Soldiers from Company B, 1st Battalion,15th Infantry Regiment, killed two insurgents, seized a weapons cache and destroyed an enemy stronghold during a nighttime air assault in Al Bawi, a small village outside of Salman Pak, Dec. 11.
The cache contained mortars, grenades, improvised weapon making materials and an unknown explosive compound.
The Soldiers performed well, said Sgt. 1st Class Patrick Blount, from Hampton, Va., the scout platoon sergeant, Headquarters Company, 1-15th Inf. Regt. They executed the plan as we rehearsed it. The biggest part of this and every other mission is the rehearsal. I tell my guys, This isnt our first air assault, but treat it like it is. Every mission is different. Dont get complacent.
Insurgents had been using the farmhouse of a displaced family to stage attacks on Coalition Forces and rival insurgent factions. At the direction of the Company B commander, Capt. Rich Thompson, from West Palm Beach, Fla., Soldiers from Battery C, 2nd Battalion, 4th Field Artillery, fired three 210mm rockets from an M270 Guided Multiple Launch Rocket System to destroy the building with the cache inside. The 2-4th FA is out of Fort Sill, Okla.
This air assault helped us support the Concerned Local Citizens, and will help them occupy check points, said Capt. Todd Barrett, from Huntington Beach, Calif., the scout platoon leader in Headquarters Company, 1-15th Inf. Regt. These checkpoints will help control extremist activity.
Battalion leaders expressed their satisfaction with the successful mission.
Our operations are having a profound impact on our area of operations and the extremist who try to operate within the area, said Maj. Steven Delgado, from Los Angeles, the 1-15th Inf. Regt. executive officer. We have greatly reduced the number of IEDs (improvised explosive devices) within Task Force 1-15s area of operations, detained or killed many extremist leaders, market areas are thriving and people are no longer afraid to leave their homes.
The 1-15 Inf. Regt. is part of the 3rd Heavy Brigade Combat Team, 3rd Infantry Division, Fort Benning, Ga., and has been deployed in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom since March.
