:::FreeRepublic's Threat Matrix:::
Calculating the Risks in Pakistan

A small group of U.S. military experts and intelligence officials convened in Washington for a classified war game last year, exploring strategies for securing Pakistan's nuclear arsenal if the country's political institutions and military safeguards began to fall apart.

The secret exercise — conducted without official sponsorship from any government agency, apparently due to the sensitivity of its subject — was one of several such games the U.S. government has conducted in recent years examining various options and scenarios for Pakistan's nuclear weapons: How many troops might be required for a military intervention in Pakistan? Could Pakistani nuclear bunkers be isolated by saturating the surrounding areas with tens of thousands of high-powered mines, dropped from the air and packed with anti-tank and anti-personnel munitions? Or might such a move only worsen the security of Pakistan's arsenal?

“A Very Big Bat”
By Bill West

BLOG ENTRY SNIPPET: “What do all these have in common? As often reported in the CTB, these matters reflect upon the close linkage of US national security and immigration issues. A beating victim smacked repeatedly in the head with a baseball bat will soon succumb to the attack, especially if it is a large bat. This combination of immigration law violations and security threats equals a very big bat. Any guess who might be the victims?”

“Risk Remains as Long as Iran Enriches Uranium, Experts Say”
By Patrick Goodenough
CNSNews.com International Editor
December 06, 2007

ARTICLE SNIPPET: “(CNSNews.com) - As Democrats continue to attack the administration over a new intelligence assessment that Iran suspended its quest for nuclear weapons four years ago, proliferation experts say that as long as Tehran continues to enrich uranium, the potential threat remains.

That Iran is continuing — and increasing — its uranium enrichment activities is not a matter of dispute.

A year ago, it had just over 300 centrifuges operating at the Natanz nuclear facility. Early last month, Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad announced that Natanz now had 3,000 centrifuges, and the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) confirmed that in a Nov. 15 report, putting the number at 2,952.

Centrifuges are machines that spin at high speeds to extract small amounts of fissile material from uranium. Uranium enriched at lower levels is used as fuel in power plants, while highly enriched uranium (HEU) is a key ingredient of an atomic bomb.”

“’Israeli-Arabs planned attack on soldiers’”

SNIPPET: “Two Israeli-Arabs suspected of planning terror attack on soldiers, security guard as part of global jihad movement spearheaded by al-Qaeda; Pair sought to stab IDF soldier near Kfar Qassem in order to nab his weapon, use it to shoot other soldiers”

Efrat Weiss
Published: 12.06.07, 17:50 / Israel News

ARTICLE SNIPPET: “Two Israeli-Arabs from Jaljulia, aged 17 and 21, were indicted in a district court in Tel Aviv on Thursday for planning to carry out terrorist attacks as part of al-Qaeda’s calls for worldwide jihad.”

ARTICLE SNIPPET: “One of the accused, Akrama Jureen, 21, admitted during his interrogation that he was influenced by calls by various Islamic terrorist organizations to take up the cause of worldwide jihad. He claimed to have visited websites that serve as mouthpieces for violent jihadist movements that feature religious leaders connected to al-Qaeda imploring Muslims to carry out jihad.

Jureen allegedly showed the other accused man the videos of Muslim leaders speaking favorably about global jihad in order to convince him to join him in planning terrorist attacks on Israeli soldiers.

The security establishment released a statement saying that “this case demonstrates the ability of ideology of global jihad to penetrate (Israeli society) primarily though the exposure to the various Internet sites (these groups) maintain.

“This ideological penetration is manifested through independent actions and not only helps strengthen the ideology, but also serves as a motive to carry out terrorist attacks.””

“Wahhabis planned terror on US Embassy in Serbia”
December 6, 2007
SERBIANNA

ARTICLE SNIPPET: “The arrested 15 members of a Wahhabi terror group have been charged by the Serbian authorities for planning terror attacks on various locations in the capital Belgrade that were to include bombings of the US Embassy in Serbia.

According to the indictment, the arrested Muslims have engaged in terror planning and the evidence includes confiscated weapons, various communication intercepts between the members inside Serbia, Bosnia and Saudi Arabia and detailed maps with specific markings for potential targets.

“The indicted ones have established a close network with the similarly minded individuals, commanders, ideologues and mentors abroad - in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Austria and Saudi Arabia, with whom they were communicating through telephones, email and otherwise, and through the recorded commands on CDs,” says the office of the prosecutor that has charged the men.”

The puppet masters don’t want to reduce the global population to 200 million .

Mmmmmm, in at least one country without sealed borders north or south, and NOT with citizens, the population is growing massively on a daily basis (sarcasm).

“Isotope shortage almost ‘catastrophic,’ MD says”
The Toronto Star ^ | Dec 06, 2007 | THE CANADIAN PRESS
Posted on 12/06/2007 2:51:28 PM PST by fanfan

ARTICLE SNIPPET: “Suppliers around the world are scrambling today to help out a Canadian company that produces much of the world’s medical isotopes as a global shortage forced thousands more patients across North America to indefinitely delay tests for cancer and other diseases.

Despite some glimmers of hope, harried doctors warned that a shortage of nuclear material – the result of a prolonged shutdown of a federally owned reactor in Chalk River, about 180 kilometres northwest of Ottawa – was getting worse with each passing day, and Canada was developing an ugly black eye as a result.”

Per the link below, the thought there will eventually be no Christians left in Bethlehem seems unthinkable:

A Palestinian State will be rid of Christians as well as Jews

According to international human rights lawyer Justus Reid Weiner, Christians have at least 15 years left in PA areas before their community completely disappears.

“The systematic persecution of Christian Arabs living in Palestinian areas is being met with nearly total silence by the international community, human rights activists, the media and NGOs,” The Jerusalem Post quoted Weiner as saying in an address at the Jerusalem Center for Public Affairs.

Philippine Catholics afraid of Muslim homeland deal

When Christians in the southern Philippines heard that the government and Islamic rebels had agreed to expand a homeland for Muslims on their island, they panicked.

"We started buying some weapons to defend our families and community," said Berting, a coconut farmer, whose farm sits in the heart of a mainly Muslim province in the southern Philippine island of Mindanao.

Oh, there are lots of efforts to create chaos as a route to population reduction and justifying the NWO to create ORDER, AND STABILITY AND PSEUDO PEACE . . .

As Scripture says . . . the world leader will

MAKE WAR WITH PEACE . . . as is increasingly happening in pressures on Israel.

Four blasts rock Palestinian base in Bekaa
Thursday, December 06, 2007

Four large explosions ripped through a base manned by Ahmad Jibril's Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine - General Command (PFLP-GC) in Lebanon's Bekaa Valley at around noon on Wednesday. Security sources told The Daily Star that four cars from inside the camp evacuated casualties to Syria.

The sources said that the camps are located in the area that stretches between the Bekaa villages of Maissra and Juntra, located on the border between Syria and Lebanon. The sources added that the region also houses Hizbullah training camps.

Fisher Price pulls lead tainted toy in Illinois

Illinois has tough laws when it comes to dangerous toys, and now Fisher-Price has found itself on the wrong side of the Illinois Lead Poisoning Prevention Act, according to Consumer Reports.

Back in October, CR tested the Fisher-Price Medical Kit, a classic toy that has been sold for years, and found that the plastic used for the red blood pressure cuff was tainted with lead. Unfortunately, because there is no federal law regulating the amount of lead in PVC and plastic (just paint) Fisher-Price is refusing to pull the toy from the market.

(Italian Mafia) N’drangeta ‘sold radioactive materials to Saddam’
ADNKI ^ | 12/3/07
Posted on 12/06/2007 9:09:22 PM PST by Straight Vermonter

Anti-mafia police in the southern Italian city of Potenza are investigating allegations that the Calabrian mafia (N’drangheta) helped an Italian firm to sell radioactive materials to the regime of late Iraqi president Saddam Hussein.

In his latest book, ‘N’drangheta’ an Italian historian and expert on the N’drangheta, Antonio Nicaso, explains that a now declassified CIA document supports these allegations.

The unnamed Italian company on three occasions between 1979 and 1982 sold uranium to Saddam, who wanted to acquire nuclear weapons, the CIA document claims.

Quoting the CIA report, Nicaso said the materials included 486 tonnes of yellowcake uranium, 33,470 kilogrammes of urainum dixoide and 6,005 kilogrammes of depleted uranium dioxide from Italy, Portugal, Nigeria and Brasil.

Several N’drangheta bosses were involved in the toxic and radioactive waste materials trade, N’drangheta turncoat Francesco Fonti testified in a memorandum to Italy’s national anti-mafia directorate cited by Nicaso.

In the memo Fonti said he was paid 330,000 euros to ‘dispose’ of 600 containers of dangerous waste materials stored in two warehouses belonging to Italy’s new technologies and environmental agency ENEA.

The materials came from Italy, Switzerland, France, Germany and the United States and were removed on 10-11 October, 1987, Fonti said.

Eight former ENEA directors and two alleged N’drangheta bosses are reported to be currently under investigation in connection with Fonti’s testimony, according to Nicaso.

Fonti also testified there had been other consignments of uranium and of Kalashnikov rifles and cash. He claimed a number of politicians had been involved in this trade, and said several ships transporting radioactive materials had sunk off the southern Italian coast, Nicaso said.
