And my own opinion is, we do not have a candidate for president that has so far explained how they would defeat this enemy.
IMHO governments worldwide are concerned about the same thing.
Government inquiry into Bhutto slaying
Cheema also claimed that authorities had intercepted a telephone conversation involving Baitullah Masood, a Taliban commander in Pakistan's western tribal areas, in which he was congratulating an unknown person on the successful attack.
However, government officials previously tried to blame Masood for involvement in the October 18 suicide attack against Bhutto in the southern port city of Karachi that killed 140 people, which the Taliban leader vehemently denied the next day.
The government's claims were curious considering that Cheema on Friday afternoon told the Associated Press of Pakistan that Bhutto had died from bomb shrapnel wounds, and his boss, caretaker Interior Minister Hamid Nawaz Khan, told DawnNews TV that the attacker did not fire a gun at Bhutto.
I don’t think people understand the depth of unrest that is in that region, especially with Pakistan.
It is not like Iran trying to build Nukes. This country is sitting on 100 of them.
Everything they do matters to us all.
Mama I don’t mean to rant. I just have great concern there.
Starting in March, the National Immigration Institute will distribute cards containing electronic chips. Those items will record every arrival and departure of so-called temporary workers and visitors, mostly from Guatemala.
Why are scientists fleeing the US-Mexico border area?
Scientists along the U.S.-Mexico border are fleeing the region, saying their work and their lives are increasingly threatened. Tighter border security has pushed drug traffickers into the most remote areas where the scientists say they do most of their work.
Some national parks have now stopped issuing research permits and have even forced scientists to sign statements saying the Park Service cannot guarantee their safety from persons entering the country from Mexico.
One scientist who uses night-vision goggles to study rare bats in the Organ Pipe Cactus National Monument says that on a nightly basis she sees men with guns and huge backpacks trudging through the desert. The scientists say huge swaths of the region are now off limits due to armed drug smugglers. As one botanist put it, "I got kind of allergic to pistols being held to my forehead."
Bhutto wanted ties with Israel - sought help from Mossad
Israeli media reports on Friday revealed that slain Pakistani opposition leader Benazir Bhutto intended to establish official relations with the Jewish state if elected, and was seeking Mossad protection in the interim.
A story on the Israel Today web site reported that in speaking to The Jerusalem Post, Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert grieved over Bhutto's assassination following an election rally on Thursday.
Olmert said that upon her return to Pakistan in October after years of exile, Bhutto told him through a mutual acquaintance that she wanted close ties between Israel and Pakistan.
Israel Today also reported that the Hebrew daily newspaper Ma'ariv further revealed that Bhutto had asked Israel's Mossad spy agency, along with the CIA and Britain's Scotland Yard, to help protect her in the run-up to Pakistan's January 8 election.
Bhutto complained that current Pakistani President Pervez Musharraf was trying to make her an easy target for assassination by now allowing her to use adequate protective measures.

In Shariah, democracy is un-Islamic. Our movement is completely against what you call democracy
I don't consider your post a rant, like Cindy has said, all information is helpful. For those of us who have been following Pakistan and Musharaff for a long time, this is a very bad scenario and one with potentially very serious ramifications.
Thank you. I love you both. But most of all I respect you both.
I understand your viewpoint regarding Pakistan, drymans wife.
Thanks Cindy.

“Four Fires Reported In Winsted”
SNIPPET: “WINSTED, Conn. — Police were questioning three suspects younger than 15 in connection with a string of car fires in Winsted.
Three car fires and one attempted car arson were reported in the town on Thursday and one on Christmas, according to police.”
Ditto that comment for both of you from me.
I know we serve a higher Lord. He knows all things.
In him we can trust. But only him.
The World we live is vastly different than the world
we know.
That’s right and Amen.

“Good News: Australian Taliban Goes Free as Supporters Mob Car”
SNIPPET: “Hicks, unlike our own Johnny Walker Lindh, admits to having personally met with Osama bin Laden.
Most disturbing part of the story? Hicks was mobbed by a group of supporters as he was being released. The “supporters” are described as “mostly elderly”. Islamists? No, I’m guessing aging liberal hippie douchebags.
I think I’m going to be sick.”

“Muslim youth ‘shop around for fatwas online’”
Font Size:DecreaseIncreasePrint Page:Print
Richard Kerbaj | December 29, 2007
ARTICLE SNIPPET: “YOUNG Muslims are increasingly turning to the internet to get religious advice on jihad as national security agencies crack down on local hardline clerics.
With counter-terrorism agencies keeping a close eye on radical imams, moderate leaders fear impressionable young followers are seeking religious orders from other sources.
The concern centres on overseas-based websites issuing personal fatwas — religious decrees — on jihad or fighting in the name of Islam.
Senior Islamic leader Ameer Ali warned that it was difficult to ascertain the qualifications and identity of the clerics issuing the dangerous rulings.
The Australian Federal Police is investigating Somali community figures accused of encouraging young men to return to their war-torn homeland and fight alongside Islamic jihadists.
Dr Ali said young Muslims who embraced the information age and turned to the internet for answers to their religious questions were at risk of being captured by radical Islamist websites.”

“Coalition Forces in Iraq Kill 5 Terrorists, Detain 14”
American Forces Press Service
WASHINGTON, Dec. 28, 2007
The 7th Circuit U.S. Court of Appeals ruled that Stanley and Joyce Boim did not show a strong enough link between contributions from the American Islamic charities to the militant organization Hamas _ a group designated by the U.S. as a terror organization _ and the shooting death of their 17-year-old son, David. Because of that error, it sent the case back for a possible new trial.
The Boims' attorney, Nathan Lewin, said an appeal to the U.S. Supreme Court is possible. «This court of appeals decision is wrong, very wrong,» Lewin said. «It amounts to encouragement of financial contributions to terrorist organizations.
