This week's Voldemort Award goes to the New York Times for its account of a curious case of road rage in North Carolina: "The man charged with nine counts of attempted murder for driving a Jeep through a crowd at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill last Friday told the police that he deliberately rented a four-wheel-drive vehicle so he could 'run over things and keep going.' " The driver in question was Mohammed Reza Taheri-azar. Whoa, don't jump to conclusions, the Times certainly didn't. As the report continued: "According to statements taken by the police, Mr. Taheri-azar, 22, an Iranian-born graduate of the university, felt that the United States government had been 'killing his people across the sea' and that his actions reflected 'an eye for an eye.' " "His people"? Who exactly would that be? Mr. Taheri-azar is admirably upfront. As he told police, he wanted to "avenge the deaths or murders of Muslims around the world." And yet the M-word appears nowhere in the Times report.

How profoundly naive! Does he not read or know about CAIR? No, actually I think the U.S. is in trouble and is profoundly ignorant in regards what is going on behind the mosque doors. How can he state we do a better job of assimiliating immigrants when the valid truth is he has no real idea what the pulse is?
Still sounds like a fellow who forgot his meds. Remember, not everything that goes on is actually tied in to events in reality.
Probably a case of a deranged individual looking for a cause. Unfortunately that's how Islamic terror works; the leaders seek out and exploit the deranged.
Still, don't you get the feeling this guy wasn't, as it were, "gotten to". Like renting a car to run down students? What kind of terrorist is that?
Not "gotten to" in the sense of actively recruited by a known group, absolutely. Many such terrorists (the Beltway sniper comes to mind) are "gotten to" by current events and propaganda.
Speculation of the stability of the UAE governments was never questioned, and it was never put forth just how the UAE government supress and contain the "radicals" within the country....just long they will be able to supress and contain....and what happens if they fail to supress and contain the radicals. It is never speculated upon just how much control the local mullas have on the Shieks.
I am actually concerned that political correctness has infested our country deeper and wider than anyone could have imagined.
John Muhammad's ex-wife says he was not motivated by current events ~ he just wanted to kill her!
Then we will harrass him with lawyers for the rest of his life.
Sorry, but in the post 9/11 full blown denial phase of our America, that is just not good enough.
For a moment, just imagine that you are a clueless college kid, sitting outside on a beautiful day at the local hangout, a pit full of other innocent kids. You were just saying to your friends that GWB is a war criminal and "the world's biggest terrorist". BAM!!! You're not dead, but some pounds of your flesh are smeared all over the sidewalk. You have been punished in the name of Islam. A Muslim has tried to kill you and as many others as possible in the name of Allah because you are a clueless college kid with amnesia and a big liberal bleeding heart. Only now, it's your body that's bleeding. Try to remember that the POS who did this to you rented an SUV so that he could murder you and still flee.
Hang this evil filth and deport the rest. TODAY.
Good line:
"The Persian car pet may have been flooring it, but the media are idling in neutral, if not actively reversing away from the story as fast as they can."
ROTFLMAO!!
What I don't understand is where you guys come from who think Moslems are so strong minded they can't be mentally ill. We'll never win this wore crediting the enemy with such powers.
Think of them as being fundamentally weak, but nasty.
BTW, no one but a sicko could possibly think you could rent a vehicle, kill people with it, and then get away. If you recall, the fellows who did the bombing at the WTC (a decade ago) were caught when the guy went back to the vehicle rental agent to get his refund on his deposit (after the bombing).
These guys clearly don't have the slightest understanding of how modern systems work. Plus, they're crazy.
As I suggested, we need to first treat them and make them sane so they can understand what's going on. Then we send in the lawyers to torture them for the rest of their lives.
That is like being the best yodeler in Compton.
Ah, if only we had something to hang him from we would, my friend, we would.
