The minions they flew to the knight and his crew
But didn't begin the attack
To spy was their task but they'd never ask
Just watch and bring the news back

To Castle Le Fey with the story to convey
To report on all they had seen
Of the Wrenn in the trance and the Knights angry chants
And the warning sent by the Queen.

But Morgan Le Fey wasn't surprised that day
To learn of all of these things.
For the voice had been His in order that this
Would bring the Knight on swift wings.

Now if truth be told the Queen Fairie so bold
Had sent a more truthful sign
Her faithful pet bird had flown with her word
In the form of her hanky so fine.

Now back in the wood the Archer stood
And ministered to the Wrenn
While the Knight paced and planned the death of the one
Who threatened the life of the Queen.

As the Archer looked east she saw the fair beast
The Fairie had sent with the sign
And they gasped when they saw what was held in it's claw
Now how to guess the bird's mind?

What did it mean?  Had he murdered the Queen?
Had the bird brought the hanky to say?
Or was it more - was the Queen as before?
Not broken and dying this day?

At once the Elf thought to herself
And remembered the gift of the gypsy
Who'd looked in the ball to see what would befall
Now would it work for her to see?

She set it out carefully and looked skyward prayerfully
Oh please she whispered so faint
Please show me the Queen - how has she been?
Please show me without constraint.

And softly the glow in the globe did show
The Fairie was in good health
Not dead or dying - the voice had been lying!
Now to the castle with stealth!

This foe that they fought had trickery wrought
And they must circumspect be
They'd win this one too but to rush wouldn't do
They needed a plan to succeed...

To you Sarge

Good morning/afternoon/evening Troops & Canteeners. Hope you are all having a super day! This is not original but it is great marinade for beef but even better for chicken!
Ingredients:
3.5 C. Pineapple Juice
1 C. Soy Sauce
1 C. Dry White Wine
1/2 C. Red Wine Vinegar
3/4 C. Sugar
2 tsp. Garlic, minced fine

Preparation:
Simply mix all together. You can let the meat sit in here
for up to 24 hours. I would highly suggest a grilling,
or even a pan-frying of the meat of your
choice. Add a little bit of butter to the pan if you
are going to cook it in a skillet.

LOL - A day late and a dollar short, but here's one of Mr. Inspectorette's favorite comfort foods:

NAN’S SMOTHERED CHICKEN

1 Cup Chopped Onion
1 Cup Bell Pepper (red or green) chopped
1 Cup Celery
1 Clove Garlic, minced

Canola Oil

1 Cut-up Chicken
½ Cup Flour, seasoned with ½ tsp each of black pepper, white pepper, and cayenne

1 14-0z. Can Swanson Chicken Broth
½ Cup heavy cream

Saute first four ingredients in canola oil.

Flour the chicken, and add to skillet. When brown, add broth, and smother for 45 minutes to an hour at low heat in skillet.

Add cream, and heat through for 5-10 minutes.

I guess I can Join The fun.

COMMISH'S CAJUN CHILI

1 lb Ground Beef
1 lb Andouille Sausage (Smoked sausage will work, or Kielbasa for a different taste)
4 Cans New Orleans Dark Red Kidney Beans
5 cans Rotel (Milder or regular to taste)
1 whole onion.
SEASONINGS (to taste)
Chili Powder, Garlic Powder, Cajun Seasoning, Season-all, Seasoned Pepper, Cavendar's Greek Seasoning.

Finely chop onion.
Brown Onion, Beef, Sausage (I usually sprinkle Worsteshire Sauce over these while browning.)
Combine with Beans and Rotel -- Cook on medium-low for 30 minutes, or to really let the seasonings infiltrate Simmer for 2 hours, and for a full kick crock pot it all day.
