Byron York of The National Review had a great article yesterday about the devolution of the MoveOn Katrina Victims protest at the White House.
Dana Milbank of the Washington Post also wrote about MoveOn's troubled demonstration.
However, apparently both these fine observers of the scene had departed when the worst part of the MoveOn protest happened.
As Angelwood and I stood talking and debating with malingering MoveOn protesters, a man standing about twenty or thirty feet away from us was giving an interview with an independent D.C. journalist.
I recognized the man as a long time liberal activist from Florida whom we had first met during the build up to the impeachment of President Clinton.
Then, he was defending Bill Clinton, now he's trying to draft his wife Hillary to run for president herself.
It took a while for the man's name to come to mind. It was Bob...something.
As he was giving the interview, the man became agitated and started speaking in a loud voice. He welled up into a tirade and blurted out, "FReepers should be shot!"
I was looking at him as he said this, as his loud voice was naturally drawing the attention of those within ever-growing earshot as his decibel level grew.
Knowing he was out on the political hustings and has been on TV shows and been quoted many times in the press, I asked him if he had just said that we (Freepers) should be shot . I thought maybe he'd take it back and try to excuse himself for being so worked up.
But no, he responded, "Yes, you should be shot!"
He walked away after that. The police did nothing.
Angelwood and I left soon after. The man's name finally came to me. Bob Kunst, president of Hillary Now.
I suppose he's lucky the TV cameras were long gone by then. But there is an audiotape. There was a microphone right in his face when he yelled out, "Freepers should be shot!"
"Freepers should be shot!"
How? The Liberals want all the guns to go away. In fact.. I a not starting to smile....
Foolish liberals.. Ban the guns but shoot the freedom loving people...Yeah.. thats the way it works..:-)

I am beginning to love threads where a pantywaist lib threatens to shoot Freepers and Freepers start counting the guns and where the military is. Then other freepers say it is all silly, that the dems are screaming and having a breakdown. Then others say "no" they have guns too. Then everyone starts comparing each other's guns. Then a map gets posted.
There is a comforting predictability to these threads plus everyone gets to compare his arsenal to the other's arsenals.
surprised no one has brought up disarming of citizens in NO who remain, refusing to leave their property. Unschooled, not to bright people who know deep in their hearts that once the leave, someone is going to take their house, bull doze it and build a big casino on the land.
Thye might get one or two of us, if they stuck to there ambush tactics, but they wont get us all!
I've remarked on it several times over the years, so if others persist in their delusions, I'll just have to go back to that American "individualism" that so many use to defame the Right: Every man for himself and Devil take the hindmost!
The liberals would lose very badly. The liberals who are violent are wacked out and irrational. They would collapse quickly if the right ever got serious and took them on in a shooting war. Liberals talk too much and cannot fight. They are all mouth and no action.

If it weren't for PG county and Montgomery county being essentially extensions of DC, MD would be resoundingly Republican.
BTW, although I have lived in MD for 12 years, I finally visited your end of the state last weekend - lovely country and nice people. I asked a guy with a bass boat for some fishing tips and he insisted I walk away with several dollars worth of tube baits and hooks.
