Byron York of The National Review had a great article yesterday about the devolution of the MoveOn Katrina Victims protest at the White House.
Dana Milbank of the Washington Post also wrote about MoveOn's troubled demonstration.
However, apparently both these fine observers of the scene had departed when the worst part of the MoveOn protest happened.
As Angelwood and I stood talking and debating with malingering MoveOn protesters, a man standing about twenty or thirty feet away from us was giving an interview with an independent D.C. journalist.
I recognized the man as a long time liberal activist from Florida whom we had first met during the build up to the impeachment of President Clinton.
Then, he was defending Bill Clinton, now he's trying to draft his wife Hillary to run for president herself.
It took a while for the man's name to come to mind. It was Bob...something.
As he was giving the interview, the man became agitated and started speaking in a loud voice. He welled up into a tirade and blurted out, "FReepers should be shot!"
I was looking at him as he said this, as his loud voice was naturally drawing the attention of those within ever-growing earshot as his decibel level grew.
Knowing he was out on the political hustings and has been on TV shows and been quoted many times in the press, I asked him if he had just said that we (Freepers) should be shot . I thought maybe he'd take it back and try to excuse himself for being so worked up.
But no, he responded, "Yes, you should be shot!"
He walked away after that. The police did nothing.
Angelwood and I left soon after. The man's name finally came to me. Bob Kunst, president of Hillary Now.
I suppose he's lucky the TV cameras were long gone by then. But there is an audiotape. There was a microphone right in his face when he yelled out, "Freepers should be shot!"
Would everyone stop worrying. Dems do not have guns. They took them away. Remember?
It's going to take more than a lawyer. As if a restraining order will stop a nutcase. We all know better than that. It's only a matter of time.
Bob Kunst is the longtime gay activist guy who took on Anita Bryant over the gay rights thing.
a job or a life, they're pathetic
On that Day, the local ACLU office is high on my list of Places to Go and Things to Do. Few more deserve a reckoning.
You missed my point. It is FReepers who would be treated like this.
How about this one?
Exactly. They're throwing Hail Marys, without any idea of the attempted receiver. They're just throwin.
"Freepers Should Be Shot" by Hillarynow president, Bob Kunst.
From his bio:
"1961-1974: Kunst spent 13 years in the anti-Vietnam War movement, organizing protests everytime Richard Nixon came to Key Biscayne,Fl. He was also on the steering committee of the Anti-War Mobilization Committee which helped organized the mass protests in Washington D.C. and NYC."
Mr. Kunst has clearly lost his AIDS addled mind.
Hearty dittos...
What more do you expect from the culture of death? You would never see them out helping this country.
They are beyond running scared, they are feeling cornered! And that makes them a lot more scared, and dangerous, and deranged.
After losing 8 election cycles in a row, liberals should wisen up to the fact that they alienate the vast majority of clear thinking Americans. Nothing PO's Americans more then some rich idiots trying to shove their failed ideology down our throats using lie's and propaganda. Then again, I hope they continue to put the foots in their mouths.
They should be called "Protest Groupies". They sure as hell don't have jobs unless they're government jobs.
It's still a little extreme, but better then the last one
