I know I'm going to get banned within 2 minutes of posting this, but whatever. I'd actually like to see you freepers dispute the points in a post like this for once, instead of just dismissing it as ad-hominem filled liberal garbage.

The Presidents daughters are adults.

We have an all-volunteer force.

He can't "send" his daughters to the military, any more than he could prevent them from enlisting if they chose to.

But you knew that.

The looney libs just can't get over the fact that there is no draft.

We are now reduced to the fact that people are eligible but they don't serve.

argh

Dispute this, ya ignoramus!

The Bush "girls" are actually adults, whose father has no power over them. They chose not to enlist, and frankly, speaking as someone who DID serve (and a female to boot!) there is absolutely nothing wrong with this.

In fact, there would be a great deal wrong with enlisting or getting a commission as a publicity stunt to "help" their father. Serving your country in the military is a calling that is not for everyone.

Question for you, punk...are YOU serving?

Oh yeah, that's right, you got the ZOT!! so you can't answer. But maybe that's a question you ought to try wrapping your tiny little brain around. What are you doing to contribute to society, besides posting hit-and-run anonymously on a website?

Go home to mama.

We refute them all the time.

That being said, do you know how frustrating it is to give an algebraic answer to someone who only knows rudimentary arithmetics.

We can truthfully answer all "your" objections till we're blue in the face, but what good does it do to answer you with the Pythagorean theorem when you people keep screeching "YOU CAN'T DO MATH WITH LETTERS!"

It doesn't surprise me that the newspapers receive a lot of idiotic letters to the editor.

What does surprise me is that the editors publish these letters as representative of the idiots that read their newspapers.

You would think it would be in their best interest to have their readership be represented by the most thoughtful and insightful people in their community -- instead of the most boorish, immature and obviously resentfully ineffective people in their community.

Oh, I get it, to these editors, these are brilliant people.

Why don't you try explaining why 12 years old is an adult for the purposes of an abortion but 18-40 years old is a child for the purposes of military service.

Volunteer army,

Many of them enlisted because of 9/11 demanding war with Islamic terrorism.

"...dismissing it as ad-hominem filled liberal garbage."

Excellent analysis and great suggestion. Another point in your favor, unlike the mouth breathing, panty-wearing, brain-dead, drooling socialists who usually write this crap, you actually found the spell check feature and the grammar isn't awful.

Just too damned bad you're an idiot.

The Syracuse Post Standard letter section is one of the funniest I've seen. The paper is full tilt liberal, and the letter writers are no exception. A dying paper in an imploding town due to rampant Democrats...this letter is typical of the many "Bush lied," "Halliburton," "Bring the Troops Home" (insert empty-headed two-second touchy-feely rhetoric here) screeds printed in that junk paper every day.

Do you have any idea how much time Bubba spent "on vacation"? And did any of FDR's family die in WWII?

I would think that if Dubya likes Texas so much, he should stay there and let one who has the total concern of our nation and its people take his place.

I hear Bubba could "feel your pain"...he had so much concern for you and your feelings, he treated terrorists like criminals instead of like enemies of this country, all the while he was getting blown under the table while talking to world leaders. Yep, that twelve-year-old adolescent really cared about you above all else, didn't he?

Meanwhile, the Bush tax cuts turned loose the economy so that even with two wars, the destruction of a major landmark in terrorism on our soil (which might have been prevented if Gorlick, Bubba's chosen one, hadn't hamstrung the inteligence community), even with that, they have to raise the stinking interest rates in an effort to hold back the phenominal growth of our economy so that inflation doesn't take off.

Now, who do you think I believe cares about me? The President who it taking war to the terrorists in their homeland and making my 401K grow, or the sniggering schoolboy who cared so much about me he lied to a Grand Jury to prevent me from finding out that he got his weasel waxed while sitting in the very Seat of Power in the Oval office.

You and your friends, thanks to the power of the Internet, are being shoveled into the Dustbin of History. The schoolboy is out trying to find interns when he isn't lying about his past to protect his wife's plans to stick it to the State of NY and run in 2008.

The thing you define as a "smirk" in the President is called "being sure of your convictions" and Liberals hate him for it, because their hero couldn't decide on what to have for breakfast without fifteen public opinion polls and a staff of advisers considering all angles and how it would play in the Midwest. And I am still waiting, six stinking years now for Bubba to "explain my relationship with Ms. Lewinsky, sooner rather than later."

You backed the wrong horse, pal.

The usual Blame Bush for everything rant (ad-hominem filled liberal garbage). None of the points mentioned make sense. The author of this rant is fueled by anger because the dems lost twice, plus lost the house and senate. They can't live with their own failure, can't come up with any original ideas or programs, so it's the same old, same old. Grow up.
