A petition for the impeachment of the 5 socialist SC Justices is being circulated. As of this post, it only has 1101 signatures. Let's get on this NOW - we should have tens of thousands of signatures.
See this thread: Petition for Redress of Grievances (Kelo v. New London)
Sign the petition here
Let's get another petition going while we're at it - only include more demands - wait until a good outline forms on this thread & then ping the FReeper legal eagles to write and post it. Here are my ideas:
One of our legal eagle FReepers, (one that has plenty of Constitutional and legislative legal experience), should write the petition. IMHO, it should include:
If I've left out anything, add your own thoughts, or offer changes and explanation if you've got good reasons. Keep it specific to property rights and the SC - don't want to muddy up the issue.
Let's hear from you guys and gals - and SIGN THE SCJ IMPEACHMENT PETITION! and any new one when created.

The Supreme Court ruling has horrific consequences.
I remember. I was just a kid.
Indeed. I have friends who are outraged over it. One even wants to march on Washington over this. What say ye?
Well, FAT CHANCE.
How many Freepers remember the highway billboards that
said "IMPEACH EARL WARREN" ?
LOL
Well, since we now have the internet, we can now put a lot more pressure on Congress with online petitioins and faster response - it may not result in impeachment, but it lets them know our displeasure.
I would join in.
I thought we were supposed to blame Laz for everything? (ducks) ;-)
I signed. Would be nice if our President could get in a few more conservative justices instead...but it doesn't look likely.
And by the way, why is Laz having YOU do his dirty work for him? :)
Wonder if the gang of 7 still think we need to compromise on judicial appointments.
Wonder how your average democrat (white, black or whatever) will feel when the left side of the court takes his house.
Good questions!
""Indeed. I have friends who are outraged over it. One even wants to march on Washington over this. What say ye?"'
tell your friend to march in Nashville.
"I thought we were supposed to blame Laz for everything?"
LOL - Sounds good to me.
"And by the way, why is Laz having YOU do his dirty work for him?"
I think he might have gotten irritated that I posted the link and info about the petition on several different articles about the SCOTUS decision. But, then again, maybe he just thought it needed it's own thread. (It probably wasn't because of my eloquent prose, lol.)
Here's links to his comments:
So, I complied, then blamed him - haha.
To Laz - if you're reading this, I know nothing about this - little green men made me do it, and erased my memory. That's my story and I'm sticking to it.
;^D

There is a liberal columnist who always writes liberal "look at this poor wittle victim" types of pieces. Today I read her column and found myself agreeing with her about this ruling. This may be something the liberals and conservatives can work together on. It's not just the conservatives who find this ruling outrageous.
Good Going Laz

Course, it would be nice for the President (or someone) to say SOMETHING (ANYTHING!) about this decision.
But, I guess all my hard work to elect George W. Bush has gone to waste for lots of reasons. But, I hope he enjoyed watching the baseball game last night while every city attorney is furiously planning the "urban renewal" efforts all over the country.
Can the President provide an executive order? Can Congress do anything to help protect our individual property rights?
One would have thought that the 5th Amendment was enough, but apparently it wasn't enough.
And, I don't want to hear about state vs. federal, because all of the "local" entities are all in favor of it...SEE THIS POST.
Maybe someone who is sober in this administration --Dick Cheney where are you?-- will come out against this?
Maybe? [crickets] Guess not.
