Cheney rushed to hospital
I think we were very kind. Personally, I don't see where wishing for 1000 fleas in Bubba's shorts is so terrible considering the man. I'd call it justice.
Our Cheney is going to be fine - he's got to be.
Prayers going up for our VP!
Prayers for Vice President Cheney.
They are a miserable lot aren't they? I'll send one up at mass tomorrow
he is a good man and the Us needs him..Hope all is o.k.
--Dr. Rosenfeld, on Fox, just mentioned congestion in the lungs and heart failure: very possible congestive heart failure.--
this means they need to readjust his pacemaker, possibly, and they will give him meds to reduce the fluids and treat any pneumonia he has...long as his kidneys are in good enough shape, this is probably just a momentary crisis...after such a hard campaign I am not surprised...
Dale Jones, former Halliburton leader Recent regent of Baylor suffered a head injury [and died]
DALLAS - Dale Paschal Jones, a former Baylor University regent and president of Halliburton Corp. who was known as much for his devotion to Christian ministry as his business skills, has died of complications from a head injury. He was 68.
Jones, who led the multi-billion-dollar oil-services corporation before Vice President Dick Cheney took over in 1995, died Nov. 6 at a Houston hospital.
He had struck his head while hurrying under a closing garage door after triggering an inside control, his family said.
Though his injury appeared to be minor, it caused internal bleeding that put pressure on his brain.
At the time of his death, Jones was a board member of the Baylor Health Care System, for which he served as chairman from 1998 to 2000. He had served as a Baylor University regent until May.
"Dale Jones was one of the most honorable regents to serve in Baylor's history," said Baylor President Robert Sloan in Friday's editions of The Dallas Morning News.
"He brought great business experience to our board, an analytical mind and a heart deeply committed to the Christian faith."
Jones became executive vice president of Halliburton's oil field services division in 1987. In 1989, he moved to Dallas and was named president of Halliburton, a post he held until he was replaced in 1995 by Cheney.
Jones was named vice chairman of Halliburton, a position he held until he retired in 1998.
Most recently, Jones served on the board of directors of Noble Energy Inc. of Houston and Choice Ministries in Roswell, Ga.
A memorial service was held Friday. He will be buried in a private ceremony at Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery.
ha! I guess I missed that thread. :^)
Prayers up for our awesome Vice President.
May God surround him with angels and keep him safe, and in good health for the remainder of his term.
Much of the discussion on Fox News revolves around the long flights Cheney took to and from Hawaii. Some doctor is speculating it could be embolism from a leg clot moving up, common to older people on long flights -- that happened to a relative of mine. He justed listed that among a long list of possibilities, didn't say he had good reason for suspecting it.
just heard (not the final word) but so far heart trouble ruled out-on ABC radio
Cheney Taken to Hospital for Shortness of Breath
Saturday, November 13, 2004
Vice President Dick Cheney (search) was taken to a hospital on Saturday after he complained of shortness of breath.
"On the recommendation of his doctors, the vice president is going to George Washington University Hospital (search) for some tests," spokesman Ken Lisaius said. "He experienced some shortness of breath Saturday morning and has had a bad cold, which could be the cause for the shortness of breath."
The vice president, 63, has had four heart attacks (search) and several surgeries for cardiac ailments.
President Bush was notified, Lisaius said.
Cheney's cardiologist, Dr. Jonathan Reiner, was to oversee the tests.

Godspeed, Mr. Vice President! We love you!
"My husband never fails to give me a funny 'look' before he steps aside while I rush to log onto FR when we see breaking news"
Haha!! I haven't been here long but I find myself doing the same thing! It just gives me comfort to know there are like-minded people who will be there no matter what!
Cute... I'll have to remember that! .. LOL
He drove there on his own; Fox saying that he had to go in to have a test run.
You don't try to reason it away, with his history.
Not for the fleas.
Jim Angle reporting now. He felt well enough to go on the pheasant hunt, but has been feeling flu-ish since coming back. His cardiac doctor practices at the hospital. He called him and the doc said they had better run the tests as a precaution. He was taken in a car, not in an ambulance. Lynn Cheney is with him.
