And I have to admit all your points are right.
But we have a issue to work out with Kerry. It's old business, but it runs deep. When I came back, I couldn't even tell people where I was because I would get ostracized by my peers. Even the VFW and American Legion didn't want to talk to us back then.
This fight started 35 years ago. Let us finish it.

The conversation was about Viet Nam and that time period. We have probably seen the Dick Cavett show tape of the debate between O'Neil and sKerry - so of course they had met be then. O'Neil said he never knew sKerry in VN, because he got kerry's boat after he left.

I hope you are watching Scarbough Country on MSNBC. Buchannan is doing a wonderful job interviewing O'Neill. It's far better than the Fox interview.
Anybody catch that Jeh Johnson called it a PT Boat and Colmes jumped in and said Swift Boat? Of course I just got on and haven't made it to the end of the thread yet.

My mistake. yeah it sucked how all of us got treated, but it was especially bad for the guys who went to Nam.

Like many people I pretty much believed what Kerry said so many years ago. It was all lies! And because of Kerry good and decent men were "spat" on.
From the bottom of my heart I say "I'm sorry" to all those that served in Vietnam for what they have gone through. They should have been celebrated. Not slandered.
I listened to Sean Hannity's radio interview with John O'Neill today. Hannity kept talking about how he's friends with Lannie Davis, Former Clinton White House Special Counsel and John Kerry's point man on the Swiftboat controversy. I'm growing tired of Hannity. His heart may be in the right place, but he comes across like an ice cream salesman.
'WHAT WILL HAPPEN TO REENLISTMENTS WHEN AND IF KERRY TAKES OFFICE. WHO THEN WILL DEFEND US FROM IRAN/N. KOREA/TERRORIST. KERRY WILL BE TO BUSY PLAYING HOLLYWOOD AND PASSING OUT FLOWERS/BEADS TO PROMOTE PEACE.'

Oh, it gave me chills when he said that. My daughter just signed up for AF and we are all praying she doesnt have to serve under Kerry. I mean..I have nightmares thinking about it!

O'Neal just made my throat choke up with his closing statment that the American people can't do this to our men and woman serving. I pray they are listening.
During the interview they were showing images of Kerry from over 30 years ago. they showed the marches. They showed his speech stumps and his testimony before Congress. My anger has no words and I wasn't there.
I have to applaud these men and all 'Nam vets. It would take a force of will not to want to do physical harm to these creatures that dishonored them and their country.
Dude, was the kid armed? Because as much as I despise Kerry, I'll give him credit for one VC dead. The VC might have "recruited" children, I've heard of our soldiers fighting against children in Somalia and Iraq. It's nasty as all hell, but the moment you pick up a weapon and point it or fire it at our guys, expect to get ventilated. My understanding is that your protected status as a civilian is not protected any longer the moment you decide (or are forced to) pick up a weapon.
Is it deserving of a Silver Star? Well, jeez, that's an awful important award for picking off a wounded VC with a rocket launcher. Rocket lauchers can kill your crew if they hit the boat, but I'm unaware that doing your job got you special commendation. Seems kind of a reach. Beaching the boat would seem counter-intuitive, as then it is a perfect sitting target. A fast moving boat would seem safer than one you beach with respect to rockets. I wasn't there, I don't know how swift boats operated (what the procedure was when you came under rocket attack). I'll defer to the actual vets themselves. What do they say?

I think Pat did a great job. Sean did a great job on his radio show but because that liberal was near on FOX he seemed a bit weak. On Fox I don't recall him mentioning Cambodia? I may have missed that in my Zone world.
It's all very, very incestuous, IMO. And none of them care about either the news or us.
