Seems Kerry's "I'm a Swift Boat Hero" story has sprung another leak.
Kerry claimed a Bronze Star with "V" device for rescuing Jim Rassmann, an Army SF 0-2 after a mine exploded under a boat, knocking Rassman into the water.
That Kerry pulled Rassman out of the water is not contested, but the Bronze Star is now being questioned.
According to tro friends at network, not just Rassman but a total of 4 men went into the water that day. Kerry saved Rassman, another boat saved another soldier and a third boat pulled two people to safety!
The problem is, for the other boat skippers, it was all in a day's work. No medals were asked for, recomended or awarded.
Kerry pulls one in four out of the water and gets the Bronze Star!
What does not compute here????
Media types are at DOD Awards Branch, trying to get the documents on this.
Semper Gumby!
Well, we should write to Sean and let him know about it and how unhappy we are. I HATE those shows when the guest that is speaking is just about to make their point and finish...they are interrupted. That's why we don't watch a lot anymore.
So do I. :)
I need to add you to my ping list.
"And none of the swift boats were damaged" are the words of Van Odell. He was speaking in the context that after the one swift boat hit the mine there was no enemy fire because there was no damage to the other remaining boats. In fact he said during the interview, "Those guys weren't that bad a shots." Sorry for the confusion.
It was my understanding that the guy Kerry pulled out of the water was not on his boat so the gunning the boat story doesn't really work.
Lt. Rassman was in fact on Kerry's boat and had been for the last couple of days prior to this incident. Your understanding is incorrect.
Perfect!
Done.
Thanks.
PS If I don't answer every ping, don't take it personally :):)
If everyone answered my pings. I wouldn't have time to ping!
No time to ping ~ that will test your high pain threshold. :):)
Look Lindsey Graham all dressed up like Audie Murphy.
I have rried to figure out why K in his journal says Rassman was on another boat and Rassman says he was on Kerry's...how's this...if Rassman was on K's boat and K gunned the engine to get out of Dodge, knocking Rassman over, it gives credence to that story, however if Rassman was on another boat it is neutral and does not support the story that K gunned the engine...
these crewmen of Kerry may or may not have suceeded well after leaving the service...since Kerry is runnng for president and his wife is a billionaire, why not hitch a ride with him? On the other hand most of the officers had a leg up or were career types and night feel more duty and honor bound to their country...and his crewmates might not really know much about Kerry till now...
If Starks hadn't totally disillusioned and pissed me off by endorsing Clark (General Confusion) for President, I'd be flagrant fouling your butt!
How come he didn't get a GOLD star?
Pfft! Starks is weak.
(Pat Riley orders Starks' "Knicks" teammates to hand him the rock. Starks backs up to three point range and hurls up massive brick. Crowd starts throwing gigantic foam fingers, crazy straws in his general direction.)
Pat Riley:
I stand by my decision.
Hubert Davis??? He can't guard a cardboard cut-out!
And Riley was right!
Greg Anthony:
Yo, check it. We own the Garden this August!
(Greg Anthony inbounds from Patrick Ewing. He passes it to John Starks. Starks throws it to Charles Smith in the paint. Smith misses the easy layup. THREE CONSECUTIVE TIMES!! Starks bags "NYC GOP Chick's groceries. Asks if she'd like paper or plastic, then gives her a receipt for her purchase.)
I always answer.
I like Greg Anthony -- he's a Republican. :)
GO, GO, GO Swift Boaters for Truth!
I caught somebody recognizable, but don't know his name, a retired colonel or whatever on Brit's show tonight. They were talking about Kerry's account of 'bravery', Swift Boat action, etc.. This guy absolutely backed the Swift Boat vets, said they worked as group of boats, so if one came under fire, the others would fight back. Said these guys were in good position, probably in a better position to see what went on on Kerry's boat, since Kerry and crew would be too busy as the action went on to look around them. Also, a bit later Brit mentioned a lawsuit by some watchdog group claiming the vets' ad was illegal. Said this wouldn't fly. Soft money would flow downhill like water and still find the candidates.
