Discussion Thread: Kerry's Appearance on GMA Regarding Medals
Good Morning America - ABC News
Posted on 04/26/2004 5:09:02 AM PDT by governsleastgovernsbest
Let's see if I can kick this off.
During the promo at the beginning of the show, where he was standing by live in West Virginia, and throughout the interview itself, Kerry tried hard to keep this huge "what me worry?" smile plastered on his face. He coupled it with numerous condescending head shakes that seemed to imply "these poor benighted fools who so miserably misunderstand the greatness that is John Kerry."

And he was fighting Charlie when Charlie was trying to softball him. "Charlie was waiting for me...I could smell him. But I, JOHN KERRY, saw that ambush, and sprayed that trap with all the words I could muster, until the segment was over...and a commercial came to medevac me out."

Kerry started flip-flopping the moment he returned to the US after his Viet Nam service, because he then realized a Viet Nam war hero was dirt to his elitist friends, it just wasn't popular enough for debate boy.

You poor bastard. Now you're watching BOTH "the Today Show" and "GMA"?
;-)

:-) Limbaugh's at his best in these election years, IMO.
To: Common Tator
His problem is he believes his own lies. Danton said of Robspierre "He will go far, he believes everything he says." 18 months later Robspierre went to the guilliotine.

don't believe our lying eyes and ears. I missed the '71 clip, but saw most of the rest, and that was the only message E'ffin had.
Pathetic!

Clinton was the same way. He told his lies so vividly, even he believed them. And the libs ate it up because he was such a "fun" liar. They will turn on Kerry because he lies down to them.

Many thanks for it. I plan on annoying people with his flip-flopping today.

You poor bastard. Now you're watching BOTH "the Today Show" and "GMA"? ;-) LOL. If I keep this up I might have to go on a constant Nexium IV drip! But really, it's just a one-day aberration given that GMA had the scoop. I did quickly flip to The Today Show. They were reduced to running laudatory coverage about fallen hero Pat Tillman. That must have stuck in Katie's craw!

I guess he could always say that and start by saying, "GMA reminds me of my time in Vietnam..."

FNC had Joe Lieberman on discussing this. What fun to watch Ole Joe stutter and admit he's having difficulty following the story.

What fun to watch Ole Joe stutter and admit he's having difficulty following the story. I caught that too and found it very revealing. Lieberman was effectively saying that he was having trouble keeping up with all Kerry's lies!
To: prairiebreeze
I don't have a clue what he is talking about...the ribbon signifies the medal....they are the same......your are given two ribbons(Bronze Star)..one tiny one so you can wear in civilian clothes, the next ribbon you wear on your class A's, the medal itself you wear on more formal uniforms like dress blues......they don't give you three, so you have an extra one to throw over a fence!......what a POS.

I find myself wondering: if you're one of Kerry's senior aides, perhaps his communications director, what do you say to Kerry after his GMA appearance?
Do you lie and say: "great job, boss! You really have squelched this scurrilous smear. That should surely put an end to the controversy!"
Or do you dare to tell the truth?: "you came across as a Clinton-like weasel, but without the charm. We better do something else fast or you're toast!"
