I don't have a clue what he is talking about...the ribbon signifies the medal....they are the same......your are given two ribbons(Bronze Star)..one tiny one so you can wear in civilian clothes, the next ribbon you wear on your class A's, the medal itself you wear on more formal uniforms like dress blues......they don't give you three, so you have an extra one to throw over a fence!......what a POS.

How dare you question his patriotism?
[lol. Terry Mc was on FoxNews earlier. He repeated a dozen times 'Kerry the war hero.' But both Mc and Kerry never get to Kerry's substance; rather they revert to Bush/Cheney attacks. Kerry is an empty ketchup bottle.]

He didn't throw the ribbons or the medals, naw... he tossed the tiny little safety pins that hold them! Yes, Kerry defiantly gathered each of the safety pins in his hand (risking great personal injury), and hurled 'em like a grenade! Sadly a pesky 2mph wind came up and they landed at his feet... Those dangerous pins could have ended up in his eyes! Oh the humanity!
Fortunately some world leaders had just returned from having lunch in NYC and using an empty Grey Poupon jar from their limo, put the pins in the jar, and with some help from someone who doesn't throw like a girl, tossed the offending safety pins.
Another proud Kerry moment.

When you receive an individual medal like the Silver Star or Bronze Star, you are provided with a presentation case that includes the ribbon, minature medal for wearing on a dress uniform, business suit, or tuxedo, and the regular sized medal.
