Sorry to hear about your awful trip, Kay! At least it's beautiful country down there.......mr. Ohio and I honeymooned there (26 years ago on Tuesday!), and had a lovely time! ;o)

Glad you're back safe and sound, though!

As to the singing, kids benefit if you sing to them, even if you can't hear the tune right, or make it come out right, so good for your grandkids!

That's a pretty awesome repertoire you have there, though. Have you considered adding 'My Dog's Bigger than Your Dog'.....or maybe 'Flatfoot Floogie with the Floy, Floy?' (You can mess up the words on that one, and it doesn't make one lick of difference! :o)

Raven's house burnt down. He and his wife were able to escape, but the house is a total write-off. He gives more details earlier in this thread.

I have decided about the Saudis. I don't think they are terrorists (except for the obvious militant few). What they actually are: COWARDS. I think we need an Axis of Weenies for countries like this, that do NOTHING except pay people off, negotiate, and complain. France is another one I would lump in there.

Isn't it pathetic that Pakistan, which has been so anti-American in the past, is a better ally than the Saudis? I hope Prince Bandar is going to get an earful on Tuesday. And I hope they are told to get with the program or else.

I think gulfcoast is right. Explain what the Saudis did, tell them we won't buy their oil, institute rationing for the short term, and tell Daschle we are drilling everywhere, pronto. Executive order due to a national emergency...full steam ahead.

The Saudi's better to Allah that the next terrorist attack in this country does not have any of their citizen's mixed up in it. Or it will be open season...I am afraid.

There is some real anger towards them under the surface in this country.

Hi Clara. Thanks for trying to ping me. Next time, huh?

Wow! We had some special visitors at our church today all the way from Israel. They're both born Israelis and have an incredible testimony. His name is Danny and he works distributing the Jesus film there.

He grew up getting beaten every day by his father and soon turned to drugs and was a drug dealer and mixing with criminals. He was in jail and his wife was a new believer and God told her to take a Bible to him. When he got it, he opened it up and read from Isaiah 61: "I have come to set the captives free." He said the words jumped into his heart, but when he was released from jail he went back to drugs and selling.

One day he was very stoned and while at the home of a big criminal boss he stole a watch. Later a friend warned him this man was planning to killed him so he thought he would just kill that man first. Just as he was going to leave he said to his wife, "I'm going away for about 3 weeks to take care of some things that I can't tell you about." His wife said, "Danny, you know the truth. You must trust." He said, "Who is this I am supposed to trust?" His young son was sleeping on the couch and in his sleep he said (in Hebrew), "The Son of God." He ended up not going out and gave his life to Jesus Christ.

I was privileged to talk to him after the service. He faces very real persecution all the time. His house has been burned down, his car has been stolen and many others things. One day he was given a chance to share his testimony on TV and half a million people got to hear him. But later on he was driving one day where people were passing out flyers. He took one and saw a picture of him and his wife. The flyer said, "Don't have anything to do with these people. Don't let your children be around them." Another time they were having a meeting in their home and some Hasidic Jews burst into the room and started yelling at them and threatening them. They just prayed in fear, but the people left.

The story of how they came here is also incredible. There's a church in Chattanooga that meets for prayer and one day a woman had had a dream about someone she didn't know named "Dan." She shared her dream with the prayer group and they all began to pray for this "Dan." After a long time of praying for him, whether months or even years, they got a call from this guy in Israel who didn't know them and he said, "My name is Danny." They were amazed because they knew it was the one they had been praying for for so long. They paid for him and his wife to come over and that's why he was here today.

He gave us a lot of encouragement today in his testimony and his faith. One thing he said I want to pass on. He was talking about how we take things for granted and don't have passion for God to really give up everything for Him. He said, "We must either change our attitude or change our name." In other words, if we want to just say we're Christians but live the way we want to, we should change our name so we aren't called Christians. But if we go by the name, we should have the attitude that we will do anything for God and trust Him in everything.

Sorry this is so long, but I am excited about this guy being here today. Oh, and by the way, there's a chance he might be able to invite my friends from Senegal who are studying in Cairo to go to Israel for fellowship and spiritual nourishment. Cool, huh?

And til: Your llama love shines thru. Very touching!

John - 2 More days!!

Accomplished quite a lot of yard and garden work both here and at church.

Feel pretty good about that.

*Prayers* to us ALL that we remain FOCUSED ... while simply exuding patience ... where appropriate, of course ... that we are granted wisdom ... a wee bit o' >I>humor thrown in there ...

some comfort, peace of mind, solace ... *grace* might be a good thing ... while maintaining a Justice is always done ... whether it comes from one man to a million ... or from a million to one man 'tude ... which is always appropriate, of course.

kayak ... it sounds like you could have used the spray bottle for your trip ... I am glad it improved with age! The landscaping on your son's property sound beautiful!

MadIvan ... thank you for your attempt ... it seems some are not ready to walk away ... *sigh* ...

Guennie ... I so enjoyed reading about your Sunday services!!! 'Tis good ... a new home for you both.

Miss Marple ... did you assemble the key chain yet?! HAR! ... Just nudging you, I am .

Listening to the gaping mouths, today ... I am no more edified today than I was yesterday ... but my head aches ...

Urgently seeking edification ... sounds like a screen name. HA!

/bandwidth wastage ...
