I would like to take this opportunity to stray from the normal topic of our Thread Intro and do something special this weekend.
I would like to dedicate and name this thread "America The Right Way Thanks Jim Robinson"
We come here from all corners of the world and have developed a long lasting friendship that knows no bounds.
One of the most poignant things about ATRW is that it is often considered a place to call home. Everyone here supports each other through many different ways.
We have come to each other in times of need, for prayers, comfort, reassurances. We have shared the joy of new life, the sadness of loved ones passing.
We have encourged those going through trying times, be it as a result of unemployment, family troubles, inner conflicts, or life changing decision making.
I can't think of too many other places on ATRW where one can go and bare their soul and have a greater group of people love, support and be totally honest, at times when it is needed most.
We also have some rather prolific posters who gather here to provide important links or simply opine on the political nature of the day.
I have learned much by being a member of ATRW.
I have made many, many lasting friendships on ATRW.
That said, I would now like to thank Jim Robinson for giving us our little space on the Cheese Side of FreeRepublic.
Our "HOME" away from home.
Without your generosity Jim, it would not have been possible.
I hope our posting decorum, our political activism, our unwaivering support for you and one another, our troops, and our President has helped to make FreeRepublic what you want it to be.
You deserve much credit Jim and we thank you very much.
Please take some time this weekend to join me for this special Weekend Edition thread.
All are welcome to post for the cause. We simply ask you keep your comments polite and civil.
Well said Nita. I agree.
Back later. Things to do. :-( Would love to not do, but no can do.
I thought I'd ping JimRob and say 'thanks' too.
Good opening Nita.

Just another day in paradise!
One of the things I have gained from FR is that I have people who are truly my friends. Where else could I find people who share my love of books, gardening, politics, and get good recipes as well?
I think this was an excellent idea, Nita. Thank YOU for thinking of it!
Conservative Books Still Reign on Amazon! (Gertz at #1, Hannity at #2, Coulter at #5)
Everytime Bush shows up the crowds go wild......anyone doubting his ratings has rocks for brains.

The news as reported in The Washington Times:
[Note All links go to The Washington Times website.]
[Note also Again, Butwhacker deserves the blame, NOT Chairman, for mangling today's update!]
1. Ashcroft says secret court 'misread' the Patriot Act when demanding changes to surveillance guidelines.
[I wonder how many on this special court are UOx42 holdovers, like Mineta et al??]
Justice argues court misread Patriot Act
2. Bush Admin. broadcasts directly to Iraqi people to topple Say-dam.
[The Pentagon's no. 3 official took to the radio to make the case. Steve Forbes always said this was effective; maybe he's right.]
U.S. takes to air to topple Saddam
3. Two American Federation of Teachers Chapters reject NEA's 9-11 teaching guidelines.
[Those would be NY and WV. This is great news, and apparently there are many more teachers not going along with the liberal pap from the NEA. Maybe there's hope for them afer all....]
More teachers shun NEA's 9/11 lessons
4. Sen. Dashole is pulling out all the stops to influence S. Dakota's senatorial race.
[Little Tommy D. is threatening lobbyists and special interest groups with pulling their pet projects if the vote doesn't go his way. And STILL it's a dead heat for the 'other' Sen. seat from SD.]
Cash talking in South Dakota race
5. ACLU, after losing two Ten Cmmandments rulngs in Kentucky, is now trying to get the Ten Commandments banned from a Frederick, MD cemetery.
[Which just goes to show you that, even after you're dead, the libs at the ACLU will not stop pestering you. ]
ACLU loses two religion rulings
6. Investors are shifting money into collectibles after the stock market downturn.
[Jane, maybe you'll make a killing in the antiques market now? ]
Collectibles benefit from stock market drift
7. There's a new pop song heard on Russian radio: 'Someone Like Putin'.
[It is all the rage on the two leading radio stations, 'cept there are two small problems: the group who made the record doesn't exist, and the record isn't for sale! Sigh. Some things never change... ]
All Russia's humming, 'Someone Like Putin'
We shall not rest until we have cut a swath 60-miles wide through the entire left - taking all that is before us with us as we go. We shall leave nothing to the enemy that may be of value to him. We shall show him that he may count on nothing and will be able to keep nothing, not his spirit, not his soul, not that upon which he shall feed. We shall not cease until the moment we have rent through their entire land and have arrived at the sea, with our glorious victory upon us.

Nita, that is a wonderful opening! THANK YOU! It's a keeper, and will read it again just today.

That post about the conservative books caught my eye, too!
Several more cases of West Nile viruses in n.e. Ohio...
Plus more heavy-duty storms last evening.
Did they roll thru upstate NY and over your way?
