This wooden figurine was discovered in 1977 in an early house built by the ancestors of the Inuit on Baffin Island in northern Canada. The unique carving represents a person wearing European clothing and a cross on their chest. Dated to 1350, the figurine is the earliest Indigenous representation of a European anywhere in the Western Hemisphere and probably depicts a Norseman.
The tiny driftwood carving, which is currently on display at the Canadian Museum of History, measures just 2.1 inches (5.4 centimeters) tall. According to the museum, the featureless face and stumpy arms are common in 14th-century Inuit carvings, but the depiction of a non-Inuit is unique.
The mysterious figure wears a long robe or tunic with a cross on the front — a garment that is similar to those worn in the 11th to 13th centuries by Norse Christians from Greenland. The Norse sagas mention a place called "Helluland," which Leif Eriksson (also spelled Erikson) visited in the early 11th century and is most likely Baffin Island.
Around A.D. 1000, Norse explorers landed in what is now Newfoundland and set up camp at a site archaeologists call l'Anse aux Meadows. Wood buildings and remains from iron production are all that is left of the earliest European settlement in the Americas.

An Inuit carving of a European, dated to around AD 1350 — the earliest depiction of a European in the Western Hemisphere.
Inuit kind cool ping.
Ya prob already have in inventory.
Somebody made a doll for their kid and someone gets paid mega bucks to tell us what it means so they can change history! lol
So lifelike, the eyes followed someone out the door.
But, the emphasis, the framing, is a put down on Columbus.
We all know that the vikings visited all over the place. That is how they got the name. We all know that they tried to settle some areas. This is not news.
But, nonetheless, the MSM simply MUST make sure in every way possible that you are told that Columbus is relegated to 2nd place, at best.
Where are the Italian/Spanish pitchforks?
White Scots, Danes and Norwegians should start calling themselves “First Peoples” in Canada.
“unique carving represents a person wearing European clothing and a cross on their chest.”
Whoa whoa whoa wait....I thought we can’t assume anything by the way people dress?
(AND BTW, I can’t tell about any cross.)
Is the carving 1350 or is just the wood?
Maybe a more modern Intuit found a piece of old driftwood to carve on.
The ancient remains of white people have been found all over the world, but they don’t fit the narrative and so aren’t widely reported (or known). There was a case some years back of a mummified / buried carcass with reddish blond hair found in the Pacific Northwest. But the “Native Americans” made a fuss over the disrespect being shown one of their alleged ancestors, and the remains were turned over to them without further study or comment. Similarly, blond-haired remains were found in China and quietly put in storage without further study.
It’s like Europeans didn’t have indigenous people that explored.
It’s Columbus’s janitor!
And the hands and most of the arms.
I think they discovered Mr. Bill.
One presumes they came across the top of Canada just before the Little Ice Age.
Spitting image of my Swedish grandfather.
I had to look hard, but it does seem to be there. Faintly
Thanks!
What that nose, mouth, eyes and ears, you can clearly see that’s a northern European depiction.
