‘We Won’t Sink With Our Ice’ (Inuit to file complaint aginst US for 'Global Warming')
Newsweek/MSNBC ^ | 02/03/2005 | Ginanne Brownell

An Inuit group says that climate change is jeopardizing its people's livelihood--and that U.S. gas emissions are to blame.

Feb. 3 - The Inuit living in some of the world’s iciest regions are feeling the effects of global warming. The ice caps where they hunt are thawing earlier every year; polar bears are hunting in unfamiliar places; non-indigenous species are being seen in the Arctic and last summer local inhabitants saw their first wasp on Canada’s Baffin Island. None of this is news to global-climate experts, who are meeting this week in Exeter, England, to discuss the scope and rate of climate change. Indeed, the English conference comes on the heels of a warning released last week by the International Climate Change Task Force that politicians have less than a decade to prevent worldwide disasters caused by global warming....

What about the global warming scientists are seeing on Mars? Interplanetary air pollution?

We should sue the Inuit for raising the level of Global Stupidity and thereby lowering the world's average IQ, particularly in North America. In a very short time the US borders will be inundated with clueless Canadians fleeing the localized effects of Inuit ignorance.

Good point. The other planets in our solar system are warming as well. The U.S. isn't doing that. The U.S. isn't causing global warming either.

I'm going to sue the Inuit the next time a blizzard socks the northeastern U.S.

One Inuit kook can make an unfounded claim and get a story on msnbc or whatever network did this story.

Earty to Inuit: Call China.

That could be interesting if the clueless Canadians fleeing across the U.S. northern border ran into the stampeding Mexicans coming from the U.S. southern border.

You are buying into the idea that "global warming" is caused by burning fossil fuels.

There are indeed cyclic climate changes, e.g. ice ages and warming periods. But man's effect on the rate of progression of the cyclic changes thus far appears negligible.

The computer models cited by the global warmists are virtually worthless. Some day we may be able to simulate the climate change cycles and do some meaningful calculations. But that day isn't today. Or next week.

It's finally getting warm enough to be comfortable, and food sources are less scarce now -- so they're suing?

More to the point...

The Inuit are even much more ignorant of climate variation and its causes. The only reason this is even an issue, is that the "educated" activists among them, as ignorant as they are, are whipping up the continuing fiction that "somebody" can stop it (or start it). Pretty much an established non-issue.

Well if this just ain't screwy...odd that the Inuit are just now noticing 'global warming'...woulda' thunk they'd have noticed the ice was melting sometime about the time the land bridge disappeared & they couldn't walk back to Asia.

I wish I could be around in a hundred years when every will be laughing at the 'scientists' and 'global warming' freaks. Maybe God will let us in on the joke.

Well, that firmly established the mala fides of the ICCTF, which of course, I knew about already, since one of the more prominent and knowledgeable members of the group gave them away when they "summarized" (badly) the results of the last session in '98.
The dishonesty of these "grant parasites" cannot be overstated.

Agree. But, to the extent that one is so ill-infomed, biased or just plain indoctrinated into the fiction that 'Global Warming' is caused by somebody or some country, why the US? Every other country on the face of the Planet has less in the form of environmental regulations than the US. IMO Even their ignorance is misplaced and biased.

Think about it. Until recently there was nobody around to blame, with deep pockets who can give them "reparations" instead of simply saying, "go away, fools!"

Inuit being "trapped" on the disappearing ice has all the pathos of office workers in a power outage being trapped on an escalator.
