A 34-year-old Kansas mother who drove her Chevrolet pickup truck from a parking space onto an active youth soccer field at Stryker Sports Complex in Wichita has been released from custody without charges after killing two people, including a 6-year-old boy, and injuring at least ten others.
As The Gateway Pundit previously reported, the nightmare unfolded around 3:25 p.m. on Saturday. A black Chevrolet pickup, which police say had been parked near the fields, suddenly drove onto the pitch during a youth match, striking children and adults.
Wichita Police Capt. Aaron Moses confirmed two fatalities at the scene and multiple casualties transported to hospitals. Two of the driver’s own children were inside the truck at the time; a third child of hers was playing soccer on a different field at the complex.
Police later identified the dead as 6-year-old Cole Adrian and 35-year-old Nicholas Schafer, both of McPherson, Kansas.
The two were not related. They were pronounced dead at the scene despite lifesaving efforts by bystanders and first responders.
Ten others suffered noncritical but traumatic injuries and were taken to Ascension Via Christi and Wesley Medical Center: five children (a 5-year-old girl, a 5-year-old boy, two 8-year-old boys, and a 9-year-old girl) and five adults ranging from ages 28 to 68.
An additional 61-year-old woman was hospitalized for medical complications unrelated to traumatic injuries, bringing the total transported to 11.
Witnesses and community members immediately rushed to help the injured before emergency personnel fully arrived. an outpouring of aid that police and officials have described as remarkable.
Nearby, Kansas State High School Activities Association inaugural flag football semifinals were underway on an adjacent field and were disrupted or suspended.
According to reports, including from the New York Post, after the truck stopped, the driver was pulled from the vehicle by other parents and allegedly shouted, “Oh my God, Oh my God, what have I done?!”

Medical issue?
Killing Americans is no longer a crime in America. Have at it.
“... released from custody without charges...”
WHY??????????????????
“”Hold her in custody until the investigation is complete 100%””
A vote at the bottom of the article...4 choices - 0 for 3 and 100% for above... Toxicology findings could be the only excuse for such a thing taking place...She was sitting parked in a vehicle and then drove into the players!!!
You have go all the way to paragraph 12 and then it still doesn’t really explain it. 👇
“On Sunday, October 18, the Wichita Police Department announced that after interviewing more than 30 witnesses, including the two children who had been inside the truck, and consulting with the Sedgwick County District Attorney’s Office, the woman was released pending the results of toxicology testing and a mechanical examination of the vehicle. No charges have been filed, AP reported.
Police Chief Joe Sullivan stated: “We know what happened, but now we’re working very hard to find out why it happened.”
Why does “black Chevrolet” matter?
Redundant.

When you get paid by the word, you tend to sue them a lot..................
I don’t think she should have been released until they did full evaluation of her including toxicology.
she may still be a danger to others, or herself. Rx, thought issues, motor skill problem, etc.
a well person isn’t stopped in a vehicle and then suddenly drive into people with such force as to kill and send others to hospital.
There was a time when I would have assumed some kind of serious medical issue (despite her being 34 years old) or vehicular malfunction. That time has passed, and if either had been suspected, one would think it would have been mentioned. I assume now that she lost her mind and did it on purpose, along the lines of Mrs. Clancy.
And yes, it is unbelievable that ‘reporting’ these days does not provide a reason as to why she was released. Such will be/is our AI world.
:: Two of the driver’s own children were inside the truck at the time ::
Mom was passed-out and the kids took a joy ride?
This is the same soccer complex where the infamous Carr brothers murdered four naked people execution style on an extremely cold night in December 2000. One victim survived the shooting because her hair braid deflected the bullet and she faked death. It was her testimony that put the Carr brothers behind bars.
Perhaps we should wait for all of the facts to come out before the media (even outlets who we favor) writes sensationalized stories. It’s not like the driver is going to fell to South America.
She would be released if so far they don’t show anything criminal but are doing blood analysis for drugs etc... Those take time and you can’t just hold someone to see. IF there’s no indication of a criminal action right now they would have no choice. Especially if things point to a medical issue.
If you shoot someone and no legal cause for doing so is readily evident, you are charged criminally and held, without the police waiting for a motive to be established. Then it is up to the shooter to prove a justification or defense or at least reasonable doubt as to one of the elements of the crime. Here, the driver drove the car off the legal area for driving (the parking lot) and onto an area where driving is banned (the field), then killed two people with her car. I say charge her with vehicular homicide and detain her. If she actually has a valid defense, then drop the charges. Oh, and check her phone because she was probably on it.
This is another case - like the one the other day with the doctor who “stood by” while the boy drowned in the pool - where its best to reserve judgment until the police investigation is complete. Cases like this are best handled without sensationalism. Was this a horrible accident? Or was the woman criminally negligent? Who knows until the police investigate? One thing I do know is that its extremely difficult to make accurate judgments from an initial article that plays up the sensationalism and may have an agenda.
I have not had a similar experience, but I have accidentally pressed the accelerator thinking my foot was on the brake, and then pressed harder when the truck moved. Fortunately I only moved a couple of feet and realized what I had done. I didn’t read where it said how far she drove. I would think if she was impaired it would be somewhat apparent.
She was born a woman, there's that. And the Clancy trial. Frenzy has been building up.
I too am shocked that she was released. She should have been charged with two counts of vehicular manslaughter, kept in jail, see the judge to get a bail amount. That is what would happen in my state. She is a special protected class of some kind...
There was a case in my state where a driver ran a red light causing multiple fatalities and injuries. She had minor injuries, was disoriented, so she also was taken to the hospital for a couple of days observation. No alcohol, no immediate drugs, no known cause of accident. From the hospital she went straight to jail, no bail, sat there for 4 years until trial. Same thing, interview a lot of people, examine the vehicle and black boxes, get all the video, full toxicology - point is, she was IN JAIL while they investigated. Eventually her manslaughter charges were dropped and she is now convicted of multiple murders because they proved that she intentionally ran the red light.
Seizure my a** Medical my a** Look at what she said in the aftermath “Oh my God, what have I done!?” People in a medical emergency including severe seizure would not understand, know, remember, be aware of what was going on.
At 20mph = 29.33 feet/second. So she traveled 100 yards in 10.23 seconds, or 200 yards in 20.46 seconds.
At 40mph = 58.66 feet/second. So she traveled 100 yards in 5.11 seconds, or 200 yards in 10.29 seconds.
Reaction time (RT) of drivers varies 1.5 to 2.5 seconds. Omni stopping distance calculator results:
1.5 sec RT @ 20mph = 20.05 yards
2.5 sec RT @ 20mph = 30.80 yards
1.5 sec RT @ 40mph = 54.85 yards
2.5 sec RT @ 40mph = 74.42 yards
And she was traveling on soccer turf or sod not a dry pavement. How did she travel 100 to 200 yards and not stop? She did not honk, turn, brake, throw it in park or reverse, apply emergency brake, turn off ignition, or even scream or yell - but magically the truck stopped after she hit, killed and injured a crowd of people. Bullsh*t meter on tilt.
