A Kansas mom who was behind the wheel when her truck crashed through a youth soccer field, killing two people — including a 6-year-old boy — has been released without charges, cops said.
The unidentified 34-year-old driver smashed into the crowd of people at the Stryker Sports Complex in Wichita on Saturday afternoon — injuring 10 people and killing Adrian Cole, 6, and Nicholas Schafer, 35, both of McPherson, Kansas.
She has since been released without charges pending the results of toxicology testing and a mechanical examination of the vehicle, the Wichita Police Department announced on Sunday.
“No charges have been filed at this time, and investigators continue working to determine the circumstances that led to the crash,” the police department said.
Her Chevrolet pickup was parked in a parking space near the soccer fields before it sped onto one of the fields with two children inside, investigators said.
One of the driver’s children was playing at the Stryker Sports Complex, but was on a different field from where the deadly crash unfolded.
Cole and Schafer, who were killed in the rampage, were not related, according to cops.

That'll teach her. Yessir.
WTAF?
When they figure it out they’ll get a picture post card from a tropical resort in a country with no US extradition.
Start-Stop Obama switch?
And it is possible.
Just not very probable.
It sounds like a Huck Finn moment
Huck (posing as Becky): A lady drove onto the soccer field
Woman: Oh dear. Was anyone killed?
Huck: No mam. Just 2 kids.
“Probably going to claim it was vehicle malfunction.
And it is possible.”
This goes back to the Audi with unintended acceleration. It was a cute lady who ran over her kid in the garage. She hit the gas, not the brake. Unintended acceleration wasn’t possible. But it was a woman. They are never at fault. It goes back to Eve.
The steering system wouldn't respond as she notice the vehicle accelerating while the brakes gave out and the tires slipped due to tread wear.
"Funny thing, officer. The radio works just fine."
Nod to John Candy, RIP.
Good one. We need literary references here. Brilliant tv news panels can take us only so far.
Soccer Post Depression.
That's all we need to know, right there.
Possible.
Just not probable.
Driving a new to me truck after almost 16 years with my old one. Things I did automatically I now have to think about.
“they’ll get a picture post card from a tropical resort in a country with no US extradition.”
Da Nang, Vietnam great point break and zero extradition just sayin.

What does that tell you?
Agreed! No name either? Must Quandriashalalagucci
Didn’t mean to be serious. I know a lot of new vehicles need much more getting used to now. Car expects us to reset the memory for AC and so on as well as other things it is “thinking” about.
Worst I ever heard was Frank Sinatra’s lifelong pal Jilly Rizzo (owner of Jilly’s Saloon, favorite of stars) who died in his brand new Jaguar when he couldn’t release the automatic door locks as his car was on fire due to a T-bone crash from a DUI truck. The sheriff believes he couldn’t have gotten out before being “burned beyond recognition” as he ended up. Someone thought the system prevented the opening as it does for child proof back seat locks but another thought the electrical motor to open the lock and roll down the window was ruined.
How odd that the perpetrator wasn’t named.
And then she can return with some American investors touring the places in Vietnam they use for clothes and nuts for sale in the US.
My local supermarket’s home brand cashews and mixed nuts when the ingredients are listed say “Vietnam” as the source.
If it’s 2029 and the dems and socialists won a sweep, there will be no worry of her going to prison. Prisons were opened with AOC cutting a ribbon before a cheering crowd of prisoner relatives.
