Two suspects were arrested at Camp Pendleton on Thursday after an unauthorized entry to the Marine base.
After abandoning their vehicle, they fled on foot, which prompted a six-hour manhunt.
According to the NCIS, the situation began when the two suspects entered the base, trying to avoid local law enforcement.
It was reported that they abandoned the vehicle and were on foot. Authorities enacted a temporary shelter-in-place order to keep everyone on base safe.
KTLA 5 Reported:
A shelter-in-place order at Camp Pendleton was lifted after two suspects who breached the Marine base during a law enforcement pursuit were arrested following a “high-stakes” six-hour manhunt, authorities said.
According to the Naval Criminal Investigative Service, the incident began when two suspects fleeing local law enforcement breached a gate at Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton and entered the installation.
The suspects allegedly abandoned their vehicle in a base housing area and fled on foot, prompting authorities to launch a large-scale search and issue a temporary shelter-in-place order to protect members of the military community.
"NCIS said approximately 30 personnel were mobilized as part of the operation, which involved multiple federal, state and local law enforcement agencies. Investigators also utilized intelligence and tracking resources from the agency’s Multiple Threat Alert Center and Regional Enforcement Action Capabilities Team." KTLA 5 Reported.
NCIS said that both suspects were found and arrested after six hours with no incident.
According to the authorities, over 112 pounds of cocaine and fentanyl were found in their vehicle.
NCIS gave credit to numerous law enforcement agencies, which included OC Sheriff, the DEA, Border Patrol, and Camp Pendleton’s Provost Marshal’s Office.
At this time, authorities have not provided more information about the suspects or their identities. They also did not specify where the pursuit began or what kind of criminal charges would be filed.

Who’s bright idea was it to drive 112 Pounds of Cocaine and Fentanyl onto a Marine Base?
Damn.
I was expecting that for my pool party this weekend.
I have life jackets. Ya know. For everyone’s “safety”

I didn’t think they’d actually do it. Oh well. My bad.

XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
good thing it wasn’t a 112lb B0mb
btw, what country did they immigrate in from?
They could have a pretty good weekend in Vegas with that.
This is a USMC base right? Sheesh.
I don't know why MPs are the only ones that go around armed on a base. I'd think in the interest of preparation, more would be carrying.
Then, instead of a SHelter In Place (or SHit In Pants), a general alarm can be sounded.
😁😂🤣😅😆.....................
Uh, “shelter in place” marines! Scary bad people in the area. 🤔
Hunter Biden and another California voter
It should be impossible to breach a military base.
Well, maybe for 10 feet or so. But then that’s where the breach ends.
If you get my drift.
Marines need to shelter in place because of two dirt bag drug smugglers on base?
Kind of makes you wonder who was protecting whom from whom.
Six hours???
Another WTF moment...

Yep, pass out rifles and ammo. Attention, live fire drill. Shoot anyone not in camouflage

Lost an excellent training opportunity.
Perhaps Secretary Hegseth was premature in telling the Scouts that their affiliation would no longer be in effect.
He could have set the Brownies loose, telling them that two bad men were endangering a rare unicorn.
