Mayim Bialik, star of The Big Bang Theory, has come forward to reveal the severe reaction she suffered for two scary weeks after taking one shot of the popular GLP-1 weight loss drug.
Bialik discussed her terrifying trauma in an article for The Free Press that she entitled, “My GLP-1 Nightmare.”
The 50-year-old actress told readers that she has struggled with her weight as an adult — especially as an actress in image-obsesses Hollywood. And at one point her doctor told her that GLP-1 “might help ease symptoms I’ve struggled with for basically my entire adult life.”
The one-time child star added that when she was 23, she was diagnosed with the autoimmune disorder Grave’s disease. Years later, she was also diagnosed with connective tissue disease, mast cell activation syndrome (MCAS), Sjögren’s syndrome and dysautonomia.
She went on to say that she decided to take GLP-1 because several doctors told her “the drugs have shown promise in reducing the systemic inflammation that drives autoimmune conditions.”
She added that she had tried several other therapies and drugs to ease her various conditions, but none had worked. So trying GLP-1 was just one more step in the search to ease her symptoms. But instead of a “magic cure,” her life was turned upside down after taking the first dose of GLP-1.
“I took one shot of the lowest dose of a synthetic GLP-1, and to say I had an adverse reaction would be somewhat of an understatement,” she wrote. “Explosive, uncontrollable diarrhea. Sulfur burps so violent they left me afraid to open my mouth in public. Sneezing attacks every time I tried to eat or drink—which apparently has a name, snatiation.”

I’ve complained here before. Where are the painful and dangerous side effects for the fat loss injections getting the blubber off JB Pritzker, Katie Porter. George Conway and Rosie O’Donnell.
How are they protected?
She’s not pretty
I (66, type 2 diabetic) was put on 15 ml of Mounjaro (the highest prescribable dose shortly after it became available several years ago. It’s worked great for me. Lost more than 60 lbs, diabetes now well under control, much better energy, choosing to work well past 67.
The only side effect was vomiting about 24 hours after the weekly dose. But that’s because it shrinks your stomach. As long as you remember to not put more into your stomach than it will be able to hold, then no side effects.
And this is why you need to work with a Doctor. I had none of those side effects. If everyone was having them, they would not be as “popular” as they are.
I’m taking Weygovy now. Been on it for about four months. I’ve lost 23 pounds so far. The dehydration is no joke. Im very aware of it and drink loads of water. The constipation is real, but I learned if I drink water and fast from dinner to lunch, everything moves much better. I’m not hungry and my portions are about half of what they used to be. It’s amazing how much food I was shoveling into my mouth. Enough for two, sometimes three. No negative side effects other than the above mentioned issue. I have three more levels to go before I top out at the 2mg level. I figured I’ll loose 30 pounds. I’m getting off my high blood pressure med and my knees don’t hurt so much anymore. Works for me, but who knows, I might have something really bad happen later. I won’t bitch about it though. I made the choice. Side note, my wife made it through only three weeks on Zepbound before she had to quit it. Massive rashes and pretty bad cramping. She switched to Weygovy and has had no problems. She’s down 23 lbs.
Skip a few meals. You’ll lose weight.
She’s a d*mn smart woman. (I don’t know her politics and don’t want that knowledge to ruin my opinion.) I respect both her scientific intellect and her superb acting. Hopefully, she will recover nicely - and allows us to remember her for her talents.
Ha! I saw that same interview, the other day.
A better way is to simply put less calories into your body than your body needs. It might take months to lose a few pounds, but it is a much healthier - albeit harder - way to go.
Bryan Ardis?
I have a friend, age 67, who was quite overweight, and he's lost all his extra weight with Mounjaro.
But, I'm sure all modern medicines can carry serious consequences.
I disagree.
“Glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) receptor agonists are popular medications used to treat Type 2 diabetes. Some are also approved for weight loss, among other uses.
Ozempic (semaglutide) and Victoza (liraglutide) are examples of GLP-1s that treat Type 2 diabetes. Wegovy and Saxenda are higher-dose versions of each medication, used for weight loss.”
So Ozempic and the others are all in a “class of drugs” called GLP-1
Yeah, my doctor tried to get me on that shit. I said no F-ing way!
One of the best product reviews ever.
That’s a fact.
Medication and medical treatments are case by case and the unfortunate trend of cookie cutter one size shoe fits all health care is failing the customer / patient.
Eat to stay alive
The right kind of Stand Up Comic could read this script and have his/her audience roaring with laughter! They wouldn’t even need to do much over-acting. Just read it with great feeling! Lol.
Bullshit
Thank u
People go nuts here about pharma blame
