A 12-year-old Georgia boy was left heartbroken after his therapy pig was allegedly killed by three ghoulish neighbors – who were found with the dead animal in aprons and gloves beside a boiling pot of water.
Garrett Cox, who has ADHD and autism, is now struggling to cope after Bootsy, his 400-pound emotional support pig, was savagely shot dead after wandering from her pen and off the family’s Hoschton property, about 50 miles northeast of Atlanta, last week, according to multiple reports.
“I miss her so much,” the young boy told WSB-TV about the award-winning pig, while clutching the ribbons they had won at livestock competitions.
His parents, Kerrie and Matt, told the outlet they rushed out to find Bootsy after she escaped – then heard a gunshot and followed the chilling sound to a nearby home.
That’s when they found three people in aprons and gloves standing next to the dead hog and a pot of scalding hot water, leaving the horrified parents convinced the trio were trying to butcher the pig for food.
“There was a rope with blood on it beside her body,” Matt said, adding that Bootsy had been tied up.
Kerri said she confronted one of the cruel suspects, asking, “Why would you do this? You knew she was our pig,” but said the maniac responded with laughter, the outlet reported.

A delicacy in their country.
They need to be jailed, and fined more than they can afford - and make them pay over time. I could give a flying f about their culture.
Arrested in Alabama for taking advantage of found food roaming free on the hoof? I find it hard to believe.
NEVER make a pet out of bacon.🤔
I wonder if there is more to this story, like repeated escapes and property damage by Bootsy, or if it was just a case of "it's dinner if it crosses the line". Given the modern press, I expect a fact free heart tugging story.
To make amends - the neighbors should invite the boy over for a barbecue.
Those little Vietnamese pot-bellied pigs make nice pets.
Terrible behavior by those neighbors, but I'm just trying to visualize how a twelve year-old boy interacts with a 400 pound pig. I admit I'm no expert on the behavior of pigs.
I’ve read in several reliable places that pigs have higher IQs than dogs and almost all other animals. The minute I read that, I stopped eating pork. I’d just as soon eat your Corgi.
So yes, a therapy pig would work just fine for this kid.
A therapy skunk would be ridiculous.
“Ghoulish”. Nope, no bias here.
Why is the dead pig wearing an apron?
Well, at least we know they aren’t Muslims.
Domesticated pigs are very intelligent animals, considered to be even more intelligent than dogs.

It’s the pet or livestock owner’s duty to secure that animal to their proper location. It was very sad that the pig had wandered off the family property, but it is not the neighbors obligation to return that pig to her rightful owners.
Would you feel the same way about an escaped dog?
I don’t know what’s weirder, the hungry guys with the aprons or the kid needing a ‘therapy pig’.
Love it!!! We’ve had Corgis in the family since 1966. Years after that, the family genealogist “finally” found me. Turns out mu dad’s maternal ancestors came from Wales. Daughter has two now plus two big dogs. I live in an aparment with my cat.
Have always had animals, can’t live withut one.
