BAGHDAD — Following the death of former U.S. Vice President Dick Cheney, Iraqi government officials finally admitted they actually did have weapons of mass destruction this whole time.
"It is true," Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani told the press. "We have been having the weapons for all these many years. We were... how you say... just messing with you. Funny, yes?"
Cheney and then-President George W. Bush launched an invasion of Iraq in 2003 based in part on intel about the Saddam Hussein regime producing and stockpiling weapons of mass destruction in the country. An extensive investigation later turned up no evidence of WMDs, landing a blow to the credibility of the Bush administration.
Now, Iraqi officials said they had WMDs all along.
"Hahahahaha," Hassan continued. "We hid them underground and Saddam told us to keep telling the Americans there were none, and it worked! Those dummies. Now that Mr. Dick is dead, we can say they really do exist. We have so many. I'm not sure any of them work, and I think some are made of plaster and newspaper, but there they are. The joke is being on you, America."
At publishing time, Senator Lindsey Graham had called for an all-out military assault on Iraq.

But this is not funny, nor do I classify it as satire.

I agree with you, but I also think we are kind of the target of the joke.
So I think we may just have to sit and take it.
Not funny. They did have; either went to Syria or buried in the desert sands. As to amount, strength or viability, who knows.
This question will be on the short list of imponderable speculations. Such as JFKs assassination.
Those of us still paying attention to it will never know for certain. If solid proof is available, both sides of the War would squirm trying to justify what they promoted.
What’s the definition of mass destruction? And weapon? People think bomb or explosive but as we know a plane, a truck, a gun, etc can be used to create considerable destruction. Heck look at the CO2 pipelines being built in US. That’s probably a bigger threat since it’s already had issues and made most of a town’s people ill, some with residual effects.
Did they though? Maybe a tiny bit left over from 10 years prior but an actual threat to the USA?

Then again, it's not his heart. Cheney's real heart was last seen on an operating table somewhere.

I watched the war intensely and CNN's website IMHO was good at quickly brining breaking news.
CNN told us that there were no WMD's found because Bush lied.
Then CNN told us that Iraq fired mustard gas at American troops because Bush is incompetent. Then CNN told us that no WMDs had been found (huh?).
Then CNN told us that Iraq fired sarin gas at our troops. Then CNN told us that no WMDs had been found (wait, how?).
That's when I also realized that CNN's readers/viewers were sheep willing to swallow as "news" obvious inconsistencies intended to make America look bad.
