No employee at Politico got paid yesterday. First time ever the company missed a pay period. This is a crisis.
Now we learn Politico — a “news company” — which spent the last 10 years trying to destroy the MAGA Movement was being massively funded by USAID.
Trump & Elon deleted their funding.
Now Politico will go out of business.
The corruption is endless.

I think this will get bigger. Beyond Politico.
Look at the NYT — yes, it’s owned by a Mexican billionaire. It probably loses money, and maybe that guy doesn’t mind losing money. But is it also subsidized in part by some part of the US government? Black programs in defense, or CIA? Or does the Dept of Education funnel some money to the NYT? Who knows? If such funding has been happening, and if Elon can end it, then suddenly the Mexican billionaire may be losing more money than he wants to lose.
Likewise, NBC is owned by Disney, right? Disney has revenue from many sources. Maybe they don’t mind losing money in the News area. But, if the US government is “helping” and suddenly has to stop “helping” then suddenly Disney is losing money faster than it wants to lose it. Maybe the News business suddenly looks less appealing.
I think it will take time for the full ramifications to be revealed.
I just heard on the radio that the NYTimes also was getting USAID funding.
