High-protein breakfast foods often seem like a smart, nutritious choice to jumpstart our day. They're hailed as morning heroes, offering sustained energy and keeping you full until your next meal. From protein shakes to egg white omelets, there are a variety of options that make it easy to add more protein to your mornings. But despite all their benefits, some high-protein breakfast foods can have hidden pitfalls that may compromise our weight loss efforts.
Many high-protein foods that seem healthy often hide ingredients like added sugars, unhealthy fats, or fillers that can undermine their benefits and stall weight loss progress. To stay on track, it's essential to know what's in your morning meal so your high-protein breakfasts can truly support your health goals.

Just finished my usual 3 eggs in a small cast iron skillet, covered, in butter topped with harissa.
Freshly home roasted coffee with A2/A2 Alexandres 6% milk.
Yum!
It’s all just ‘Junk Food’ MARKETED as ‘healthy.’
Bingo
Sugar, processed/gmo grains, high fructose syrup, ChyNah processed, vaccinated pork, fake whey ...
No, thanks!
Most of those are a no brainer....
..but the some of the suggested alternatives are interesting options that I plan to look into.
Thanks for posting 👍
Does sound yum!
We love their whole milk yogurt, too, for when we haven’t had time to make our own.
Junk food is itself a mislabel. It’s not food.
Given Fruit Loops, the only thing remotely edible is the cardboard box.
Processed food...whodda thunk
Usually, I would also be able to say “fresh backyard eggs”, but we attracted too many rats with their food, they were getting old, and we’re moving. So they’ve been re-homed.
You mean imitation, fake and pre-processed crap labeled as food is bad for you?... hard to believe
Simple rule of thumb - any food brand before about the year 2000 are suspect. People and the industry in general has become much more careful about creating healthier alternatives in the past 15-20 years. Most of the junk on this list are brands from the 1960s through the 1990s.
Me, too. Three eggs with butter. I don’t know what harissa is, though. I do Parmesan cheese. Strong black coffee.
yeesh, I never eat any of that junk. Not even the alternatives.
I buy only whole milk yogurt from Aldi. Publix brand has only low fat yogurt. It is sugary and not as creamy, obviously.
It sounds to me that it’s more the high processing than the “protein.”
Processed foods are POISON.
I bet you have very strong teeth to eat a cast iron skillet..........
Our four young hens finally started laying about a month ago. Well, one did, and the second started a few days ago. What we’ve discovered is that we really only need two hens at the most. We get roughly 6 eggs per hen per week normally (with the last batches of chickens). We’ll see how these four do.
BTW, we have “batches” because each batch usually ends with a close encounter with raccoons. We’ve got it pretty well protected this time. We’ll see how it goes.
My morning omelet starts by pan frying diced mushrooms+onions+tomato’s+serano peppers. When cooked to tenderness, sprinkle salt, cumin powder, add scrambled egg and grated yellow cheese. Cook until cheese melts.
I see on cruise the chef tosses the omlette in air to flip it. If I tried it, it will be all over my gas stove LOL. So I just use a big fat spatula to torn over the omelet. With lots of veggies, I need to use only 1 egg. Eat with sprouted wheat toasts with butter or corn oil. This is my every morning’s ritual. Coffee is hard on my stomach, so usually I do hot tea. but once every week I will brew coffee.
