When it comes to healthy eating, veggies are always a good choice — but one takes the cake for being the healthiest.
Watercress is the most nutrient-dense vegetable, receiving a perfect score of 100 in the CDC’s long-standing ranking of “powerhouse” fruits and vegetables (PFVs).
Chinese cabbage is a close second with a score of 91.99, followed by chard (89.27), beet greens (87.08) and spinach (86.43).
These foods, among a total of 41 that qualified as PFVs, were found to contain 17 nutrients, including potassium, fiber, protein, calcium, iron, thiamin, riboflavin, niacin, folate, zinc, and vitamins A, B6, B12, C, D, E and K.
Cruciferous items, including watercress, Chinese cabbage, collard greens, kale and arugula — as well as leafy greens, like chard, beet greens, spinach, chicory and leaf lettuce — took the top spots on the list.
Yellow and orange foods, like carrots, tomatoes, winter squash and sweet potatoes — along with allium, citrus and berry croups — landed in the bottom half.
When it comes to the top veggie, watercress, nutritionists agree that it has a multitude of health benefits.

Being insulted by a moronic troglodyte with an extra chromosome and a family tree like a broomstick is a honor. Now go tell your uncle-daddy that "naked spank time" has to end.
Kale tastes like dirt. Girl food.
I doubt other people think you’re as important as you do.
And if you’re tired, why don’t you just leave?
I’m no longer accepting any new words or terms unless it’s to describe a new invention. Especially ones made by some punk ass rapper or “influencer.”
I now have a chance to grace this site with
Call Any Vegetable by Frank Zappa and the Mothers of Invention.
This is a song about vegetables, they keep ya regular
They’re real good for ya
Call any vegetable
Call it by name
Call one today
When you get off the train
Call any vegetable and the chances are good
The vegetable will respond to you

How did I get so old and stay so healthy while refusing to eat veggies...
Oh well. Not going to change now!
Language has always evolved and always will, whether we like it or not (the ‘bonus’ section at the link below is interesting):

RE: I know someone who got seriously messed up from eating too much kale all the time.
Did he have a Kenyan accent and jug ears that stick out and had a mean looking muscular female behind him?
He once sniffed arugula in the market for a photo op.
Loved kale, too. 🥗
Old Atlantic article:
In his speech, Obama referred to the inflated cost of arugula at Whole Foods, which was a small gaffe: Iowa didn’t have a Whole Foods, and the leafy vegetable wasn’t then familiar enough to be name-checked in a broad point about American grocery costs. But political media turned arugula into its own news cycle, with conservatives charging Obama with elitism. Around the same time, lattes were also being slandered. It was a big moment for food as proof of one’s true ability to govern.
I don't think that I am all that important, I am just highlighting that too many of the mods on FR like to editorialize by deleting comments. I am sure that the leftist mod that deleted my comment on Jamie Lee Curtis having more time to contemplate her dry vagina was distraught, nay devasted, that a man pointed out the fact that 65 year old lefty actress might have more time to reflect on her 4B dry vagina when she no longer wastes time on X.
I also had my comment deleted when I responded to the comment “Tattoos are a form of self-harm and not a sign of intelligence.” with “I am not saying that you are a prissy little faggot but you certainly comment like a prissy little faggot.” I can only assume that my comment was deleted by mods that self-identify “prissy little faggots.”
If you are content with being censored over sarcasm then you do you. I hate censorship with a passion and censorship always starts at the edges with calls to ”manners.”
How dare the mods assume my gender?! How do they know that I am not a faggoty faggoty with a dry vagina indulging in self-criticism? Are the mods assuming that I am a despicable, cis-gendered, white man with no right to comment out my opinions? To hell with them.
You act like you’re drunk.
The obvious problem is going to the British for opinions on good food. If it comes to food, teeth, or electronics, avoid the Brits.
How they got the Fish and Chips thing right is beyond me.
Beef Wellington, Yorkshire puddings, plum pudding, Coronation chicken, Scotch eggs, clotted cream - they make a lot of very good things.
I actually agree with you.
There are a few specific zeepers who had posts and even whole threads pulled because they did not like your point of view.
I had a post pulled because the zeeper chick did not agree with me.
I didn’t write any nasty words, didn’t attack or target anybody, I just disagreed with her.
It’s probably best if you just let it go and move on.
Thanks Sheldon!
Jk!
Anyone who ever actually uses that phrase should be flogged ten times with a cat-o-nine-tails, then pilloried on the courthouse square to be pelted with rocks and garbage by all and sundry.
I like just about all of those veggies. Wish I could like ‘greens’ more - turnip, collards, etc. You seem to have to add a lot of bacon fat to them to make them palatable.
Watercress is SO beautiful when you see it growing in the wild. It just LOOKS healthy! I know where there is a perfect patch of it, but I can’t get at it as it’s on private land. Darn!
How to Grow Watercress at Home
https://www.thespruce.com/how-to-grow-watercress-7965923
Skip down a ways on how to grow it in a pot. It has to be moist/wet at all times, so growing it in a container is the easiest solution to that.
I sometimes get Beef Wellington on a stick. You may also know it as a “Corn Dog”.
I cringe when I hear someone say “veggies” It’s like they are talking baby talk.
Um...I’m not sure that’s exactly the same...
Now you’re talkin’!!
