For decades Americans have been told bacon and butter are bad for our health - as well as too many eggs.
The reason? They are high in fat and cholesterol, which have been demonized for their apparent links to heart disease and weight gain.
But a doctor from Georgia who ate the breakfast trio for 30 days straight claims they actually made him healthier.
Dr Sten Ekberg saw his bodyweight and body fat go down, as well as his levels of insulin, glucose, triglycerides, cholesterol and indicators of liver damage.
Ekberg, a registered nutritionist, regularly conducts diet-related experiments on himself.
In March 2023, he ate nothing but junk food for ten straight days to see how it impacted his health.

He ate what he called a 'clean' keto diet, which included a lot of bacon, butter and eggs, but also leafy greens and vegetables and other meats like steak, fish and chicken for 30 days.
After ten days of eating nothing but junk food, Ekberg's bloodwork was alarming.
Not only had he gained 10lb in little more than a week, but his levels of insulin, glucose, triglycerides, cholesterol and biomarkers for liver damage increased between 19 per cent and 125 per cent.

Volunteers are lining up to help the doctor verify his findings.
I watch a lot of Dr. Ekberg’s videos. He’s really good.
Dr. Ken D. Berry’s videos are good as well.
A few docs on YouTube same thing.
Also, bologna and hot dogs are sufficient bearers of proteins.
That’s who I was thinking of....
I was just watching one of his videos.

Having a heck of a time with blood sugar control because I’m having a hard time with personal eating and drinking habits.
I go through good periods and bad.
My mother in law lived on that diet all her life and lived into her 80’s. She also smoked.
Just make sure there’s no processed crap in them.
Not the guy from F Troop, I’m guessing.
Dr. Berg as well.
LOL, no.
I want a bacon cheese burger right now.
.
“I’m a doctor who ate bacon, butter, and eggs for a month straight…”
You went broke, I know that.
Processed meat may not be as harmful. I love all beef hot dogs with freshly cut onions & tomato chunks.
I get the lettuce-wrapped cheese burger at In N Out Burger.

… The World Health Organization and US National Cancer Institute advise people do not eat read meat like bacon often because of its links to cancer. …
🙄🙃
The best!!
I wish there was a good “healthy” substitute that I could offer you to consider, but I can’t think of one.
When I want something crunchy, instead of chips, I eat carrot sticks or celery or an apple.
When I want something sweet, I try to go for fruit, like mango or strawberries.
But a bacon cheeseburger? Nothing fits the bacon fix. You can eat a bit of cheese. Maybe even topped with a small piece of bacon. Wrap it around lettuce and at least you don’t have the calories from the bun. That’s a start.
Cravings can be very difficult.
Good luck.
You have an In n Out near you?
