Researchers found, however, that it is hard to replicate the nutritional content of meat.
It added that those who live in poorer communities and have a low meat intake often suffer from a number of nutrient-deficient diseases such as stunted growth, wasting and anaemia, The Telegraph reports.
Researchers in Animal Frontiers said that unprocessed meat is responsible for providing B12 vitamins, omega-3 fatty acids, and minerals, such as iron and zinc, as well as supplying retinol.
The paper suggested that the link between red meat and disease was almost eradicated when it was combined with a healthy diet, leading to the suggestion it was the rest of the diet that is the cause behind health issues.

I’ll have to keep an eye out for the TF steaks — never had them. I love their regular beef chuck roasts, pork loins and shoulders, and pork chops. Also recently tried their chicken breasts and liked ‘em.
I also now cook double and triple batches of chicken French and freeze them.
Imagine Chicken French with asparagus for lunch in under 10 minutes. Life is good.
Yes! That looks delicious. Medium-rare, please.
Science and medical fads are more common than we want to admit.
Gorgeous.
Sounds really good. I actually hadn’t heard of Chicken French so I googled it. Very interesting with the flour followed by the egg dredge rather than vice versa. Apparently that’s what distinguishes it from chicken piccata. Lately I’ve been doing good ol’ chicken fajitas which brings me to one of Aldi’s few shortcomings, namely that they don’t have cilantro for Tex-Mex cooking, which is a little surprising given how many Hispanics I see shopping there. I have to make a second stop at Kroger if I want to make proper guac or pico.
I find Cilantro to be a nasty weed. Apparently, I’m one of those people who are genetically wired that way. According to an article I read… somewhere.
Cattle are fattened for slaughter by feeding them grain.
Yeah ... that 9mm bullet passing through his brain certainly didn't do him any favors ...
my aldi has cilantro...but no parsley
Mine doesn’t have any fresh herbs that I’m aware of, unless maybe they’ve got them tucked away somewhere that I don’t know about.
I can relate to that. For years I thought cilantro had an off-putting soapiness to its flavor and basically couldn’t stand it. But then somehow it grew on me, I think mainly just from eating lots of Mexican food. Now I kinda love it, which I never would have expected.
Up on the top shelf near the scallions....in my store
I know right where you mean. I wonder if I might have scanned past them up there. Next time I get groceries I’m going to check it out...
