They recently opened a Popeyes near me and I went in cause I was curious and hungry.
I thought I was in the hood, seriously, but at least every one seemed nice.
I ended up being very disappointed that they did not have watermelon as a side for their fried chicken
My advice is to learn to make your damn chicken. :)
Seriously, if you find a fast food that you like, do a search on the internet for a home equivalent. It will cost you half of what you pay when you eat out.
I really dig chicken livers but it’s really hard to find a place that serves them. When they do they incinerate them like pork cacklins. Hard to find a good chicken liver these days.
It’s overrated in my opinion.
The best chicken sandwich I’ve ever had was about 6 weeks ago.
It was at Longhorn Steak House, of all places.
You are 100% right, do it yourself or go to Strouds in Kansas City.
Go to a locally owned chicken place or a good diner....they usually have delicious chicken livers. Good chicken livers are amazing😋😋😋

I found an exceedingly good place to buy chicken liver dinners, with more well-cooked chicken livers and french fries than even I can eat at one sitting. It's a chain in Dallas/Ft Worth called "Sally's Chicken" and they cook the livers to perfection, with a little bit of crunch on the outside and tender centers. Every time we pass that way going north or south, we make sure that we stop and get us some.

Popeyes Spicy Chicken, Red Beans and Rice and their Biscuits can’t be beat in my experience. Of course some one is now going to name so whole in the road place that has better that is a 2 - 3 day drive away like you think some one should drive there to bring home dinner?

I guess I just don’t get the fried chicken and watermelon black stereotype. I grew up in NW IL, eating fried chicken regularly. I also grew up less than a half hour from sandy soil Mississippi River flood plain; where melon stands were abundant during the summer. Watermelon was devoured at our house almost daily during late july, august, and early september.
The founder was a self made success story from Louisiana named Copeland, a white guy. He passed from cancer. Today Popeyes is owned by Restaurant Associates, a Canadian outfit. I doubt there’s any institutional anti white bias. But the one in my area has a mainly black staff so maybe the staff in question here had a problem. BTW I find Chick FIL A chicken sandwiches to be better, but Popeyes sides are better and their pieces are better than KFC.
Chicken livers are easy to cook at home. Livers and biscuits and gravy, the ultimate comfort food...

I don’t get it either. When I was a small child my grand parents would do fried chicken, hamburgers, watermelon and homemade ice cream I would take turns cranking the maker.
But that was a long time ago when watermelons actally had seeds
I would get some box combo at Popeyes about once a quarter, especially during football season, but the last box of spicy I got was not very good. So I decided it was probably my last trip to Popeyes.
Now my wife fries me chicken wings using Hooters breading and then I add Hooter Hot Chicken Wing Sauce, very good. Recommend you try it.
The best livers and gizzards I’ve ever had are from a local convenience store
But don’t wait until lunch hour or they’ll be sold out by noon
