At least someone got to see “Batgirl.”
A select group of folks — mostly people who worked on the show, both cast and crew, as well as representatives and executives — reportedly have been invited to private screenings of the “shelved” film on the Warner Bros. Studio lot this week, multiple sources told The Hollywood Reporter.
One insider even described the viewings as “funeral screenings” before the footage is locked away in a vault — but it’s unknown if that vault is physical or digital.
On Tuesday, the filmmakers behind the movie, Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah, said they were not even able to access any footage from the film once Warner Brothers declared it dead.

If they let that fill go out to the public, then they would have lost some major sources of future income.
I believe the Black Widow film didn't do so well because although it was a prequel, they had killed off her character in a prior film, and audiences weren't so excited about seeing a character they knew will soon be dead.
Died of ……. Rabies?
This very well could be. My kid keeps up with all of this stuff and he said they were going to reboot the DC film franchise, starting with a Flash movie, and the weirdo that played Flash in the Justice League movies went off the deep end, and effectively messed up their plans. New people are in fact in charge of the project and this may be part of their plan.
Was the studio part of the recent CNN sale by AT&T?
No. The 3 most likely causes of Batgirl's death are:
1. She took the clot shot.
2. She knew too much on the Clintons. Or
3. At a recent Comicon she boldly claimed that TNG was better than TOS.
DUDE!!!
Just wondering...What if this is just a publicity stunt to get people to WANT to see it.
If el arbi is dumb enough to believe this snow job he shouldn't be in the business.
Characters get unkilled in comics all the time. So far the movies haven’t gone down that path, but they can, and will at some point.
Black Widow’s problem was they put it on the stream at the time, still in the covid fear window, and honestly it was meh.
I understand it was terrible. Plus super woke.
There has been a screening that was so badly received the test audience started leaving.
They should give it to those MST3K guys.
I never sausage a mess !
IT crowd! By far the funniest show ever put to film
I’m sure that Batgirl totally wasn’t going to be an utterly predictable Mary Sue beating up The Patriarchy. Because Hollywood hasn’t run that into the ground. Yes, sarcasm.
Chinese bat virus ...
If any of the actors were paid based on sales of the film, I’d sue.
The Black Widow movie just wasn’t very good either. I saw it and was disappointed.
