Almost comically, the emergency dispatcher was initially more focused on obtaining her health insurance number and COVID status than in rescuing her and the pilot from their life-threatening injuries. When another 35 minutes elapsed and there was no help, she called them back and they admitted they had no idea where they were.

There are other doctors working to inform people of the covid plot that have met mysterious deaths.
Glad she is recovering.
Question from ignorance: if a plane is flying at full speed and the engine cuts out, won’t the momentum allow it to glide to a landing under pilot control?
Is it really that strange that the comms. did not work? I wouldn't think that to be too strange.
Glad to hear that both are okay, though I would think broken vertebrates will lead to a lifetime of pain of some degree.
I'm wondering if some junk in the fuel might have caused a blockage in the fuel line.
If true, this has ‘Clinton’ all over it. ;)
Airplanes do not drop like a rock after an engine failure.
Prayers for a full recovery and RTD.
Must have flown into some graphene oxide contrails.
This is a very oddly written piece, but thank you for posting.
I suspect the weight of the vertebrates contributed to the aircraft’s problems.
What does this article sound as if it’s written in that “click bait” style?
You know...where it adds drama words to stretch it out page, after page, after page.
I come from a family of pilots and single engine planes can land just fine without an engine assuming no other control surface is compromised. Yes, you need a reasonable surface to land on and they almost always nose the engine into the dirt...but it is usually survivable.
“She has fractured her left lower leg and five vertebrates.”
Those poor animals.
If they had been using flight following, ATC would have known immediately their transponder wasn't working, and/or the second they started to lose altitude. The overwhelming reason behind private plane crashes is running out of fuel.
This is why Mike Adams no longer flies in small planes.
Does an airplane engine that is “running out” of fuel sound different than an engine that suddenly has its fuel cut off by an obstruction?
I saw that interview with Carrie & Mike Adams - quite the story. Looks like she is out of the hospital and healing up.
It’s a video worth watching as she describes what was going on as the plane started having trouble, then went down & how difficult it was to find the plane/get help.
Assassination attempt.
Airplanes without functioning engines make perfectly good, if not efficient, gliders. Most single engine aircraft have glide ratios around 10:1. Some are a little better. That means that for every 1000 ft of altitude, you can glide almost 2 miles.
In pilot training, you practice engine out procedures. The first thing you do is pitch the aircraft to best glide speed. If you were previously flying level at cruise speed, pitching for best glide speed allows you to convert excess speed into altitude which further increases time and distance you can glide.
And yes, unfortunately, sometimes perfectly maintained aircraft engines suddenly quit producing power. Usually this is a result of running out of fuel or forgetting to switch tanks.
“Dropping like a rock” is ignorant hyperbole.
No invertebrates were harmed in the writing of this article...
There is no reason ... until you figure out the reason.
