I would say if you pull back on the throttle and you’re going slow already, that might get you down real quick. JMO

Decades ago there was a jet going to the Canary Islands from England, they fought a big headwind the whole way and ran out of fuel. They could do nothing but try to glide the thing to the airport. And they did, barely. It would have been pretty scary to be in a big jet with no engine noise and all you can see out the window is water.
